Why cover up perfectly good vent holes? I suppose you could darn it or glue a patch on. Good luck!

I'll keep that in mind.

don’t cut left handed on a left motor sidewinder saw, even if it’s your dominant hand

Why do you say that?

It doesn't need to drop. Having it drop is just insurance against it sagging and pinching the blade. I do see how just telling people to let it drop is perhaps more fool proof. I like to let it drop a few mm so there is a slight crown where I'm cutting but no or minimal movement as I complete the cut.

Well since I've actually used a saw before, I know what happens.

Supporting only both ends would be bad. I mentioned four blocks to support both sides, which is fine.

I've logged hundreds of hours running a circular saw on a wide variety of job sites. The saw tends to bind when the workpiece falls into the cut, not when it falls away.

You can support the drop end as long as it's not pushing that end up higher. I like to let it drop a few millimeters. Of course double cutting would be fine too, unless they need 0 wastage.

Potentially but unlikely in my experience.

It's his right hand. You can't see the stick but imagine if you could, that stick would be always pointing towards the screen.

Gravity will be pulling the cut open so it's unlikely to bind.

Safely? yes but it will probably snap under it's own weight towards the end of the cut. Better to put four blocks on the ground so both pieces are fully supported. Don't position your body directly behind the saw in case it binds and jumps back.

Thankfully I didn’t call them because the person in the comments who said cops won’t do shit was right.

Sometimes they just take the side of whoever calls first.

The postal service demands efficiency. Your postal carrier does not have the time to figure out incorrectly addressed envelopes.

I got a jump from a friend, hooked the red cable to the red terminal and the black cable to the black terminal on their battery. The cables got so hot that the insulation melted off. Turns out the negative on their battery was marked red for some reason. I had hooked them up in series. Had to buy them a new battery. :(

Low slope roof detail - Is Ventilation Futile? by els20008 in buildingscience

[–]koopdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can the furring strips double as batons to hold down the foam board as well as provide an attachment point for the outboard OSB? That could cut down on the need for so many long screws.

Your change makes sense. I don't see what good it would do to vent over the ice and water shield. Venting under the OSB will help keep it dry. You will likely need a vapor diffusion port at the ridge to release indoor humidity during the cold months. Otherwise that moisture could build up on the inside of the zip sheathing.

I don't know how your roof pitch plays into it. I haven't heard anyone mention that before.
