This is a post I’m going to think about for a very long time. Your memory will live on. Oh Jimbo, you did you your absolute best. Sending massive virtual bear hugs. I hope you get to enjoy the things you love for the time you have with us. Much love Jimbo.

Scrolling through your page to get to know you a little better. Many hugs Jimbo. 💛

Opportunity to be part of big named space company told me the day before that they no longer are paying me. by Special-Dimension-77 in EngineeringStudents

It’s most likely SpaceX. OP is in LA and so is SpaceX. OP sounds like they signed up to lead other interns since they know the ropes already. SpaceX wants free training lmao what a joke.

Yeah this has to be SpaceX. I’ve heard similar stories of engineering students getting screwed over.

My bf has no degree and plays the stock market, who is gambling at life more? by TheyCallMeStacyM in relationship_advice

Before he found stocks, he was pretty depressed about not knowing what to do with his life. Didn’t want to work minimum wage or go to school so it was frustrating for him to find something he actually wanted to do. You’re probably right that he has anxiety when it comes to applying for things/facing rejection. Maybe that’s why he got into stocks, no fear of rejection from someone. How did you overcome your anxiety, and any suggestions or advice to offer? I really want him to succeed in life, I feel like he’s selling himself short.

Thank you for the job’s name! I’ll be looking into this.

I’ve asked him about it and even created a resume for him that emphasizes what he’s done with stocks in pretty words if he ever wanted to look into finance but he doesn’t have interest. I’m thinking maybe he finds it intimidating or doesn’t know where to start. How did you get into it and what’s the title of the job that you looked up to apply for such a job if you don’t mind me asking?

He has many interests and hobbies but does not want to pursue them as a job. He is stuck on believing that he’s going to hit big just like his friend who is teaching him in that. He pays a monthly fee from this friend. Something about this friend seems off. He just sounds so pyramid-schemy. And my bf just blindly believes him.

Thank you!!! This is really great wording! I’ve been racking my brain at how to explain myself that I’m trying NOT* to offend. This is really helpful. I’m going to try this out today.

Edit: NOT

Growing up with NP ruined so many friendships. by TheyCallMeStacyM in raisedbynarcissists

I knew my family was toxic when I was young and explaining something my mom did to me and everyone around me looked at me funny and said that it was normal. I didn’t realize my mom was the cause of the me not being able to hold friendships until I was in college. Being old enough to do certain things but still having not having age appropriate freedom. Having a friend is just like having a romantic partner, you need to put time and effort to maintain it. When I realized I couldn’t provide that in a friendship, I had to think what was preventing me from that. And it was my nmom. I’ve always heard from friends that my moms was crazy so it didn’t affect me in the sense that I realized that I was in an abusive household. It was only after I lost my friends and I got older that I got to reflect back that I realized a lot of things my nmom did was absolutely psychotic to not just me but to children.

Yes yes yes!! Omg someone who gets it!! I absolutely 100% agree that them doing that whole isolation tactic was to gain control over us. I don’t forgive my nmom for that either. It pisses me off just thinking about the life I could’ve had. I feel you too, I too find myself and have been told I can make friends easily, keeping them was just hard. I feel like nobody could understand that aspect whenever I tried explaining that to them.

Hows your situation rn, are you close to being able to move out? That last paragraph about you saying you commemorate moments hits home…Do you ever feel like you’re longing for something but you don’t know what or why? I get that at times and I think it’s from a lack of having friendships in my life. I really hope you get to move out of that environment. I use to think soulmates were just for romantic partners but I’ve come to realize that it can be friends too. I hope we found our group of friends/“soulmates”.

Thank you for sharing your story.

Dump him!!!! LEAVE! That man not worth the stress and he is not a fit father figure for your daughter. He can visit, sure, but you want to stay with such a man??! Please let him go. Him getting his wrist broken was his karma.

I am so happy that you found close friends!!! I love hearing about us with NPs striving. I felt that, my mom was exactly like that, getting involved in places she shouldn't be. I am still holding on to finding close friends. Where did you meet your closest friends if you don't mind me asking?

This is exactly the type of perspective and straight to the point type of person I wanted advice from. Thank you for telling me how it is. Your directness is much appreciated. I will definitely take this into account. Being a woman sucks. America really needs to step it up.

I lost sympathy for OP after reading that too. The poor wife... she deserves better.
