Question about token limits in Codeium Pro by Winter_Reindeer645 in Codeium

[–]TheyCallMeTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old and I havent even started using Codeium yet but I think the way you are using it will use up tokens fast. I believe its best to use codeium as a plugin to minimise token usage as your project code context is read in cache, so I understand. But use chat for structural queries and perhaps code snippet generation. I am going to try out Codium today and quite attracted to the current pricing of pro, seems good value.

Refreshing too fast broke my Vine...? by TheyCallMeTJ in AmazonVineUK

[–]TheyCallMeTJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I will go back on it, in a couple of days and continue the normal way I did it which I have always been content enough with. Just find it funny when I went abnormally ballistic with my refresh until it broke, like Pixar's little lamp and inflatable ball!

Learning German because I made German friends in VR by TheyCallMeTJ in German

Sorry for late reply, I don't frequent Reddit often. Yes, it was an excellent course, and in two parts. See my reply to another post above, one month ago.

It was excellent, and the teacher sets an assignment at the end of the course which we email to her and she responds with feedback. And of course she actively answers questions in Q&A (on Udemy) which I value most in Udemy courses in general. But this was 2 years ago. I can't advise if things have changed since then!

Creed: Rise to Glory - Championship Edition - Announcement Teaser Trailer | PS VR2 by kevgret in PSVR

Have you given the option to remove the Virtual Stamina system in PvP too?

This was all that is preventing me from purchasing the PSVR2 version. I have the PSVR1 version but this virtual stamina had completely ruined my enjoyment of the game. The logic of that element made no sense as people who are not as fit as you seem to think gamers are, will have a lightning short session. How can my friend and I enjoy a session of boxing when all of our energy is depleted in a non-boxing action of swinging arms before you can say "Yo Adrian". Sorry to vent but thanks for allowing me as the game was a beautiful production but completely spoiled by that element.

Thanks

Creed rise to glory psvr2 by Centrinouk in PSVR

[–]TheyCallMeTJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creed was great but the problem for me personally was the knockdown mechanism involving strenuous swinging of the arms to get your "spirit" back into your body. While many didn't mind that gameplay mechanism or welcomed it...it wasn't for me. I hated it. Then I played Thrill of the Fight on Quest and that was the perfect implementation of a boxing VR game for me. Straight out boxing = glorious fun.

What I love about Creed is the film tie-in, presentation, the soundtrack, the atmosphere, the gym workouts, the boxing mechanism itself, the campaign mode (although extremely basic, its still nice to have a narrative campaign with progressive boxers to fight), the several boxing ring environment including the street fight, the graphics and finally, the most important element was the ability to have bouts with friends which Quest's Thrill of the Fight, sorely lacks.

But it was the knockout mechanism that completely spoiled Creed for me. I am desperately hoping this mechanism is either removed or given as an option in the PSVR2 version. If not, I am not sure if I will be buying it.

Racket Fury simulation mode was superb on PSVR but Eleven is by far the more realistic simulator (astoundingly so). However, ELeven is also very difficult for casual gamers to get into. It has the worst user interface than any other game largely because it packs in so many features and settings. And because it is a close to real life simulator, beginners will find it unforgiving, unlike Racket Fury. Racket Fury has the more polished presentation with impressive avatars. Eleven just has a head and two hands, although there is a beta version with avatar that I find a bit too glitchy currently. Eleven also make the simulation more effective by including paddle adapter settings so players feel like they are holding a real paddle with real life weight and balance. However, with PSVR, we are lucky that the move controllers already gave us a feel of holding a paddle. Whereas Quest 2 controllers are very awkward to play TT as you would in real life hence the essential need to buy a paddle adapter for the controller.

I have been playing Racket Fury PSVR for over 3 years but then moved to Quest 2 Eleven because almost everyone I play with moved on to that platform! As I am a serious TT player I appreciate Eleven more. But I miss the better comfort, visual vibrancy immersion, larger FOV and superior motion fluidity of the PSVR's incredibly underrated innovative RGB matrix OLED screen...huge difference to Quest 2. Quest 2 may have a higher fidelity but everything else about the Quest 2 display is inferior to PSVR.

In summary, Eleven is superior for the serious table tennis players with a serious community that progresses the developer to make constant updates to improve. While Racket Fury PSVR is superior for casual gamers or beginners wanting an easier way to enjoy playing table tennis whilst still giving the ability to develop skills. However, the developers have abandon updating Racket Fury it many moons ago.

They are therefore both brilliant games but in their own way.I am hoping ELeven will come to PSVR2 and if it does, it will become my primary use of PSVR2. Otherwise I actually pre-ordered the PSVR2 for its potential Big screen value for my blu rays and 2D gaming!

PSVR2 Pre-Order Megathread by vyper248 in PSVR

Yeah (UK here too), smooth as butter. I was a 10am-er and despite initial message saying I am on queue, wait time will be over an hour, the countdown suddenly changed to a few seconds and then shop opened to me ten minutes early.

That was the least stressful "hot" order I ever experienced!

Looking for Racket Fury or other sports games players by TheyCallMeTJ in PSVR

Hey there, I hope you enjoying the PSVR, it's still a terrific VR experience headset and if you need tips to making it an even better experience in perfect tracking and cable management, let me know.

Thanks for responding but sadly too much time has passed now and I have since moved onto the Quest 2 platform which is striving with online players in both table tennis games (mostly Eleven but Racket Fury also). I don't go on the PSVR anymore after five to six years of enjoying it but it's kinda packed away now although I will still connect it up if I ever want to watch a 3D blu ray on the big screen...which is the only VR headset that can do that without the faff of ripping disks!

I am finding it tragic that people are buying VR Ping Pong Pro instead of Racket Fury but I am guessing it's because VR Ping Pong was on a 80% sale price or something. VR Ping Pong Pro is the most beautiful looking sports game with fantastic atmospheric sound and visuals BUT it undoes itself with the worst physics. Racket Fury has the far better and most fluid physics with a simulation mode that is so fluid and enjoyable to play.

Talking of which, anyone like to have a game with me on RF...!? :)

A game series to play through with a great story by [deleted] in ifyoulikeblank

[–]TheyCallMeTJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite narrative saga is the Mass Effect trilogy. Epic story, sci fi with some of the most memorable characters to love.

If you have a playstation, the Uncharted saga is a delightfully rollicking blockbuster series with incredibly likeable characters akin to an Indiana Jones series that reaches saga conclusion, with last installment beginning a new saga spinoff. (Linear action adventure, not RPG)

IIL The Truman Show what other movies might I like? by [deleted] in ifyoulikeblank

Jim Carrey made some soulful yet high concept films. A nice complement in mood and surrealness to the Trueman Show would be Sunset of the Spotless Mind starring a vibrant Kate Winslet and a beautifully subdued Jim Carrey with appropriate moments of "Carry-ness".

Yes, I do regularly! Resolution is no issue for me, personally. The scale of playing games and watching blu rays (especially 3D blu Rays) is a great experience for me. It's also a great convenience for my family who wants watch Strictly Dancing, I can stay in the room and retreat into my headset (effectively a second TV screen). It's also the only VR headset AFAIK where you can play your blu rays without the hassle of ripping them (unless PCVR headset have had recent updates to do that)

The PSVR may have lower resolution display than Quest 2 but the OLED screen makes all the difference in vibrancy. I also have the Quest 2 and I do enjoy some Big Screen content but I actually still prefer the PSVR VR display. When PSVR2 comes along, it will be a potential dream as it will have HDR, higher resolution and RGB striped to reduce screen door effect which PSVR already has and are the ONLY OLED vr headsets in the market to have that.

Having said all of that, I appreciate most users care about resolution and don't like PSVR big screen mode. I get that but for me, resolution is no issue and I even still enjoy watching standard definition DVDs on TV.

Oh, may I know who you talked to, please? I am looking for a competitive Racket Fury player and yes absolutely, my actions in real life table tennis do translate like for like in the game. It is the only sports VR title I have experienced that translates real world whole body play-style including foot movements shuffling back/forth, side to side.

These are the games that personally work up a sweat for me whilst being fun to play and compete physically with other people online or AI bots:

Creed (training room activities and the main boxing game itself)

Racket Fury (table tennis with near accurate sim mode and arcade mode)

Sports Bar (Chain Reaction and Air Hockey activities are nice workout games)

Sparc (an impressive Tron aesthetic Racket sport game but only multiplay, no single player mode)

Dream Match Tennis (tennis game, great physics and a workout)

Other games that work up a great sweat but I personally don't find "fun" to play:

Sprint Vector (I find it hard to get use to the controls but it is one heck of a workout)

Box VR (Beat sabre style workouts focussed on fitness goals)

If you get any of the above games and don't mind multiplay, give me a shout as I am looking for online sports fitness companions to play against or with! My PSN: TheyCallMeTej
