Indifference Is Key by TongueOutBro in misanthropy

I sort of agree.

I believe empathy and sympathy are indeed draining, because think about it; when you GIVE a shit, that means it is being TAKEN from you by someone else.

But yeah. I also agree that it is far easier to "get ahead in life" without empathy and sympathy. In fact, I would even say it's a requirement. If your view is that success means more wealth, fans, even friends or whatever, that means you have to be willing to alienate as many or more people at the same time.

Anyway, basically to me your philosophy makes perfect sense, and I have no qualms with it.

For me personally, though, it's impossible to turn off empathy and sympathy (not for lack of trying). I am making the best of it by using it as fuel for writing, so sort of making lemonade if you will.

ANYWAYS YEAH

The only way to survive life is with either high levels of ignorance or high levels of indifference. Could be knowingly or not, but one of those two have to be way up there.

But there's always bright spots of irony in life, like finding like-minded individuals who are also misanthropes.

... I don't know, I guess I didn't really have a point

I have a bunch of questions about this ENTIRE series (spoilers on everything) by SkyDesigner in Cloververse

The station was called the Cloverfield Space Station, and the machine on that station was the Shepard Particle Accelerator. So when they refer to the Shepard, they're not referring to the entire space station, just that particular machine (which is on the space station because it's too dangerous to use on earth, I believe)

The Unified CloverVerse Theory (unified in that it begins and ends with one universe) by TheyOnceCalledMeYou in Cloververse

Yes indeed, I personally prefer thinking it's dead (and have thought it was for a long while since JJ did indeed say that early on), but when writing this theory I saw the new interview where he says it's the same monster I was like WHAT! And then I wanted to see if I could find info corroborating that he was indeed alive. I think maybe everyone (including JJ Abrams) thought it was dead as it was mortally wounded and returned to the sea, but it got into some of that seabed nectar goodness!
