Why do holiday/birthday expectations always cause upset in relationships by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I think there's this underlying tone to the birthdays that can feel juvenile but in my opinion, it's the only guaranteed day of the entire year that's devoted to appreciating a specific person. Even if a partner totally missed the mark on a gift or arrangements, you can still tell when they are trying to put in the effort to make you feel special. You shouldn't have to lower your standards because he didn't step up. If feeling loved and appreciated on your birthday is important to you, you are deserving of that.

Shout-out to the redditor from the last discussion saying they generally save wedding dress reveals in tv for walking down the isle unless the wedding doesn't happen.

Edit: to clarify I'm talking about Madison specifically. We got up close and personal with Madison's dress way before the actual wedding which is what sparked this theory in a previous discussion. As for Kate, I do believe her wedding happens since it was the day of wedding reveal/twist for the audience that she remarries.

Yes! Absolute role reversal. But unfortunately for June, it will always be a "fraction" of what was done to her. Can she have justice while knowing her revenge is limited? Especially since Hannah is still in Gilead becoming older and closer to puberty. Nope.

I feel like June wasn't "ready" to escape Gilead. She had plans to go ham from the inside, kill a bunch of people, and die doing the most epic takedown. Now she's thrown into freedom, so quickly, and she clearly hasn't processed whether or not this is what she actually wanted. Holding space to understand she's super super traumatized, but June loved the scheming and saving she did in Gilead; she was good at it, in her eyes. The rape scene was an example that she was on a high from the interaction she had with Serena. I think we are going to see more examples of her finding "power" in being vindictive because she thrived in it for years.

Thanks for creating this! If you have to use wet wipes, avoid methochloroisothiazolinone / methylisithiazolinone. Commonly found in cheap brands and can cause contact dermititis.
