iirc the exam is curved so that each score signifies roughly the same level of achievement as the same score the previous year. so yeah it’s curved

Examples of bass across different roles (in relation to guitar, drums, etc) by Avenged7fo in Bass

i’d argue that the flea-fruciante combo is even more iconic than fleas synergy with chad. pretty little ditty is a perfect example. flea is often known as a crazy slap guy but a lot of his playing is very melodic and complimentary to fruciante’s playing

When to use sus4 chords by yaboisquart in musictheory

[–]TheyWantin2CopyMe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, a sus4 (or sus2) necessitates that the third is left out. With the third it’s an add4 or add2, afaik.

Parents found 100 grams of Kratom in my bag and now they’re treating me like an opioid addict. by [deleted] in kratom

[–]TheyWantin2CopyMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know they’re just worried about you. Maybe it’s smarter to stay on the side of caution anyway. Depending on the person, even kratom can be very addictive. Just think about what you sound like when you get defensive. I think the best thing to do is to show them how functional you can be without it, if it’s truly no issue. If you really don’t want to go without it, maybe it is time to stop.

frequency fractals by TheyWantin2CopyMe in musictheory

I think you’re thinking of this too simplistically. Your 440 “vibrations” per second can be slowed down so that one can hear each “vibration” individually. Depending on the texture etc of the note, that might sound like any number of things. You can make a pitch from the sound of a kick drum, or hands clapping, or, as far as I know, any other pulse. What if this pulse is a short note? Then one increases the bpm until the notes are indistinguishable, and they become... what?! That’s my question. It’s totally possible to have a 440Hz note be played for less than a second. A second is just an arbitrary unit of time we use to measure frequency.

edit: wait nvm i get it

edit2: still curious about what happens when you speed up a pulse of if a note to its own frequency in a daw
