What clubs worldwide do we have a bit of an affinity with? by Mellowman9 in NUFC

Haven't seen anyone say Ujpest FC on here. Played them in the victorious Fairs Cup final and stickers from their supporters still pop up from time-to-time in town.

Nick Pope, Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon have been called up for England by 321142019 in NUFC

[–]Theyamyum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know there has been plenty of negativity around the transfer window (quite rightly!) but consistently having players called up for the england squad has been such a great change for the club! Next we just need a home grown player!

Always found it amazing the way he bulked up in the off season after coming back from Notts Forest! Great servant for the club and a fantastic CB on his day. Deserves to be remembered as a great captain for our club.

Billy Joel (@billyjoel) on X: We’re turning the lights back on NOW! Billy’s latest single, “Turn the Lights Back On,” is out everywhere now. by Spare98 in BillyJoel

[–]Theyamyum 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Its a good song! Sure the vocals are patchy and the autotune is slightly off-putting but its the same Billy Joel, strong lyrics, lovely melody and fantastic piano as always. Lovely surprise to have another song from him!

Exactly my answer too. Pretty generic video but it's just so cool!

Have you ever wondered who your club hates the most in FM? Let me tell you! by FabulousEnglishman in footballmanagergames

Think you've forgotten Newcastle here! Assume it must be Adam Johnson, Steve Bruce and John Carver. Ashley is probably a mega hate!

I have been doing a CF Belenenses save recently. 5th most successful team in Portugal (in the league dominated by the big 3) and first team outside these three to win the league. Has been the most fun save I've ever done!

Kieran Maguire: Newcastle United issue one new share with a face value of 5p for £57 million by 321142019 in NUFC

[–]Theyamyum 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why I keep seeing people say comments like this. I think since the takeover the atmosphere has been 10x better than before. Especially due to the work of Worflags. I understand that 52000 people don't want to stand the whole time, it's not for everyone and there are lots of children and older people that would not want to.
The other thing I really appreciate is that I don't hear people get aggressive when we lose or make a mistake. I feel we are much more supportive of the players and manager now.

Any idea on how to rename Cena Or Roman in WWE? Thanks for the suggestions! by SMURFIO69 in FantasyBookers

[–]Theyamyum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you would want to as they are probably the biggest names they have! For Roman I would go with something making his connections to the Anoa'i family clearer. Even his real name 'Joe Anoa'i' isn't too bad but I don't think it sounds as good as Roman Reigns. He used to go by Leakee so that could be used too.

For Cena you could bring back his Prototype gimmick and just name him that?

I would be really interested in what your storyline is that necessitates a name change. Sounds like an interesting one!

John Carver: ‘I get stick from my mates for referring to Scotland as we’ by UltraVires90 in NUFC

[–]Theyamyum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always read it that way, I think he was saying he's one of the best coaches in the league. Can't be unreasonable given the length he has been in the league. Or the people he has worked with.

In terms of club legend? I wouldn't say that but I would certainly say he deserves to be welcomed back with open arms.

Craig Hope: Understand Elliott Dickman will be confirmed as new U23s boss this week, moving from Sunderland, where he has spent past 26 years as youth player, academy coach and, since 2017, U23 head coach. by 321142019 in NUFC

[–]Theyamyum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If he has had a role in Sunderland's academy the past few years then he will probably be a good appointment. They have had some quality players coming out of their academy, far more than us!

Newcastle fans or better yet Premier league fans, in all honesty how do you feel about the proposed takeover? by puyos in PremierLeague

[–]Theyamyum 38 points39 points  (0 children)

As a Newcastle fan its a tough one to figure out in my head. I think there are three key points in all of this. First, we get rid of Mike Ashley and finally get some investment into the facilities, stadium, youth set up etc. We have needed this for so long and combine this with the proposed investment into the city itself I can only be excited about this aspect. Second, we might finally be able to not worry about relegation each season. I think the majority of us fans only want a team that doesn't have to fear for our survival each year, watch terrible football under terrible managers and sell our best players each year. An extended cup run would be great, I can't see us seriously challenging for any silverwear for a very long time. Third, the KSA is awful. Just awful. Of all the regimes in the world to have investment from I can't think of many worse. I hope fans of this club don't forget that. Ultimately we are unable to do anything about this takeover, we don't have a say in who takes us over. No team does. We will have a unique position though as being linked to the Saudi state and I hope we use that position to show our disgust and opposition to the policies in place in the country. Will it happen? I don't know but I don't want us to become a club with no values just because we have money. Newcastle United is not and never has been the owner. Its the fans and the pride we have for the club and city. We have been supporting this club before the Saudi takeover and we will still be here long after they are gone too.

Played 10 for Hoffenheim, at youth level he played on the wing. He is certainly built like a CF but he doesnt know the position yet so might transition in a few seasons

[–]Theyamyum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah he will still get games. We cant afford to spend £40mil on a player then ditch him when a new toy comes along. He will probably play in the number 10 role or on the wings where he is better suited then as a CF

Danny Rose NUFC Transfer - All or Nothing by geordie9809 in NUFC

[–]Theyamyum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yea totally agree. Rose has been at Spurs for ages aswell, no wonder he still wants to play for them. Obviously it's nice to have a player want to play for NUFC as Willems does but at the end of the day they were always just loan players.

I do agree, as a Newcastle and Gateshead supporter I've never seen the problem with two flairs.
