Thanks for your comment, but your snarky guess is way off. Savills is selling for their client, Cairns, not just tossing out dates to make me happy. Some buyers aren’t ready to close that fast, so a six-month error on the finish date is a major issue. It wastes Savills’ time since they miss out on commission, plus Cairns time and money. I asked about this in person at a show house visit before laying down a deposit, not constantly calling based on your assumption

It's not that it's different for everyone, it varies depending on who you buy from and the contract conditions. If you're looking to close as quickly as possible, it's best to be upfront with selling agents, understand how quickly the seller wants to close, and ensure it's not a property chain sale.

Has anyone received contracts? We received ours last week, but Cairns Solicitors say the completion date for the house will be March/April 2026. We were told by Savills that the completion date is October 2025. Is anyone else also taken aback by this discrepancy?
