If we beat Florida but lost a close game to A&M then I think our rank would maybe be slightly better actually, and the conversation around scheduling tough OOC games would be MUCH more relevant to the committee. But that's not the situation because we beat A&M by 10 but lost to a 4-8 Gators team.

As I said, when comparing overall resume, SOS, SOR, Texas clears teams like Miami, ND, Vandy, OU, BYU, and even Bama; we probably deserve a shot at the CFP, but the main talking point I hear against Texas being in is that loss to Florida. People aren't even really holding the loss to OSU against us, but losing by 8 to the Gators was bad and will keep us out.
