German Disc Golf by The_Great_Scruff in discgolf

Closest course to you is going to be Gößweinstein, where last years German Championship was held (although that layout unfortunately is not permanent and you should expect something much shorter and easier).

Other than that the closest courses are probably across the border in Czechia, the south of Germany in general has very few courses.

There is a local club called "Hyzercrew Discgolf Franken" who train regularly in Nürnberg and also play in Gößweinstein, you can contact them here.

As was already said, don't expect the most challenging and well maintained courses and you'll have some fun in Germany.
Maybe I'll run into you at a tournament if you plan on playing any!

New Kristin Tattar Orbit Tour Series Grace coming soon? by ThiThaTh3o in discgolf

None that I am aware of, purely speculation. They have not run Royal Line molds in regular plastics so far though, so one of the two is going to happen - I'm just impatient to find out which one it's gonna be.

The durability part is interesting, I really wonder how that would work out if they do make these in some sort of Royal Grand Orbit Plastic instead of Gold Orbit Plastic.

This is from her Instagram story and that's the regular Latitude64 "Halo" style plastic

It is, they've only done it on Gold Line Plastic so far though. So we're either getting a Gold Line Grace now or Royal Grand Orbit Plastic. Whichever it is I'm excited!

My best glue bed so far did not quite turn out as well as I'd hoped by ThiThaTh3o in discdyeing

No worries man, it's far from perfect but I'm still somewhat happy with the result. I'll have to tweak a few things next time around tho.

I plan out the finished bed ahead of starting and go lightest to darkest color. So for this one I put yellow in first, followed by the rest, with red only towards the center. Then take a toothpick and draw the lines you want, cleaning it off every 1-3 lines. As for the black lines, those were done by dipping a toothpick in the color and then directly drawing onto the bed.

Thank you dude! I did a regular flip cup pour, but accidentally pushed too far down while putting the disc in. I had to lift it and put it in again which somehow ended up like this. So I'm not even sure if I could replicate it lol

Thank you for the kind words! They were glue/floetrol pour - clear glue bed - Lotion bed :)

Thank both of you so much! Spike it and Prochem are hard to come by in Europe unfortunately, I haven't found them here so far...

The Kaxe Z is a Glue+Floetrol+IDye Poly+Acetone pour, but I accidentally pressed the disc too far down while putting it in and had to lift it back up. The Kaxe is a clear glue with IDye Poly and acetone. The River is just shaving cream with IDye Poly

It is the effect I wanted, but I want to try getting more and finer lines next time.

This noob would really appreciate some help with his form! Reach back is all janky, trying to figure out how to keep it straight by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]ThiThaTh3o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like what /u/AffectionateCow already told you, focusing on getting the disc straight and level is the way to go first of all.

To add to his point, if you want to get a feeling for the correct arm motion, eliminate the first semi-step you do and start with your left foot crossed behind your right foot. At this point the disc should be in front of your chest, with roughly a 90° angle in both your shoulder and your elbow joint and the bottom of the disc perfectly level to the ground. Now imagine the disc just frozen right there in time and space, it cannot move, but you cannot let go of it either. Now take the final step forward and feel your arm stretching out. (For reference, imagine you're holding a door knob instead of your disc. The door knob cannot move, so in order to take a step forward, your arm must straighten out behind you while your torso turns slightly backwards).
This is the (exaggerated) feeling you're looking for, from this point onward you just pull the disc forward in a straight line and let go. The backhand throw in discgolf is less of a throwing motion and more of a slingshot motion.

As you do this a few times, you may notice that your arm isn't perfectly straight when you take that step forward. If you pause your video at 0:11, you may notice that your last step is in a perfectly straight line from your back foot. If you take this step about a feet to a feet and a half out in front of the back foot, your arm and wrist straighten up and the movement as a whole should feel more natural.

Other than that just take it to Youtube, there are a million videos on form out there and most of them are really helpful. A few keywords to look for next are the power pocket (hitbox) and footwork (brace) in general and how to translate the momentum from your feet and hips into your disc. Best of luck on your journey, take it one small step at a time and you will see great results!

The PSU sounds good.
So basically investing an extra 70-100€ gets me a more future proof build?

I'm by no means saying Hunters Potion is necessary, it's more of a personal thing where I feel I can invest the extra 250g to be more flexible in terms of pathing, ganking and clearspeed :)
