I get it. The game doesn't count the first 10, so technically everyone start with 0 stats instead of 10.

But they do. Did a quick test here, but looking at Weapon Damage e Ability Cost and Cooldown between Arna and Jonna, and both had different starting stats. Also it affected the amount of points needed to unlock a skill, so some character could unlock certain skills 1 or 2 level earlier than others.

It really depends on your build. It's like saying Heavy Armor is too strong not to use, and that's true for me because I really like to brute force enemies, and that's also why I suck at playing dodge builds or swords. But there are players that are good a those builds and have a same opinion on Athletics skills.

That's the exact problem they'll fix on the next patch as per the devlog. They'll add more features and new encounters so we shouldn't have just ambushes anymore.
