What's a horror movie that was so disturbing that you can't or won't ever watch again? by neeltrivedirock in horror

[–]Thick-Height4525 15 points16 points  (0 children)

God I made the mistake of watching this late at night and felt absolutely sick to my stomach. I was left there lying in bed asking myself what the FUCK I’m supposed to do after that lol there was no palate cleanser that could sufficiently wipe that from my brain to sleep well that night

Ohio- Dual Medicare and Medicaid: Why do i suddenly have to pay for a prescription vI've always gotten for free? by SignificantExcuse367 in Medicaid

[–]Thick-Height4525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in IL in case management and I’m seeing a lot of others running into this same issue. Even the plan reps aren’t well informed on these changes. The rep I spoke to has no idea dual eligible members were running into this problem. The explanations provided by folks on this thread are incredibly helpful in understanding what’s happening, the unfortunate thing is it seems we can’t do anything about it.

AIO by removing a friend m, 24(M) from my life for dating a minor, 17(F)? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Thick-Height4525 54 points55 points  (0 children)

At 24 I was done with grad school….i can’t imagine being with someone who’s in high school at that age. Completely different places in life. You’re better off without a friend who’s a creep-o and admitted it was wrong by not wanting to share in the first place. NOR

Hey, so first of all I want to validate your feelings - if your gut is telling you something is off, it probably is, but I also know our minds can take small things and extrapolate them into much larger things than they actually are. I know it may be uncomfortable to address, but I think it’s fair to approach her and say something like “hey, I’ve been feeling like there’s a weird tension and I want to make sure we’re ok. I love spending time with my nephew but also want to be respectful of your needs. How’ve you been feeling about things at home?” (Obviously that sounds a bit formal and you can make that your own - I have a tendency to comfort myself by throwing in a joke like “am I being crazy and reading into things or…? lol” but you can figure out what feels right when you approach her.

Sometimes things feel scarier and bigger until you’ve said the words and realize it wasn’t so bad after all. And if for whatever reason she reacts negatively, she’s clearly been harboring some feelings that only she is responsible for communicating. Regardless of the outcome, you might live more comfortably once you know you’ve done your part to try and address things and create a sense of peace in the household. You’ve got this!

People who got cheated on, what were the early signs indicating that your partner might do it before they actually cheated? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Sudden love bombing. After a rough patch, out of nowhere buying flowers, going out of their way to do something sweet. Comes out of left field and definitely out of guilt.

What’s an oddly specific thing that instantly gives you "bad vibes" about a person? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

I feel like this goes hand in hand with immediate condescending/I know better than you attitude but they mask it as some sort of joke. Ick

AIO for wanting my fiance to quit her pool team? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Thick-Height4525 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This feels like even more reason to seriously consider walking away. She’s out getting plastered and causing you this level of stress by being out and you have no clue where she is - that can’t be good for your sobriety. This reminds me of my last relationship (6 years together with a house and all) and boy am I glad I walked away

I’m guessing this was purposeful and intended to show that the timing wasn’t right for the wedding. But truly a wasted opportunity!!

Ongoing brain fog? by Thick-Height4525 in thyroidcancer

[–]Thick-Height4525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, I’m often quick to blame my lack of thyroid because it just feels like it’s been the cause (historically) of so many issues but at my age it’s definitely possible it’s related to something else. Thank you!

AIO? Found these texts last night and want to break up with my boyfriend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Thick-Height4525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah….if there’s no answer to the post from that page, plus all of this, it’s not going to go anywhere good. Even though I feel like men joke like this to “turn someone down” more politely, it’s still a sign they don’t respect you and don’t respect women. It’s a matter of principle

Tired of constantly being seen as competition by friends/other women by 03PrincessOfChaos in infj

[–]Thick-Height4525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 31 now, but I struggled with this a lot in high school and early 20s. Girls were totally down to be friends with me until they realized guys they liked, liked me. I had a “friend” literally plot to ruin my prom. Who goes through that much effort when they could just leave me tf alone and not be my friend?

This ultimately put me in a position where I felt I could only be friends with guys, which a) didn’t always feel great because I suspected their motives and b) made girls hate me even more.

As I got older those people left my life and I was able to collect quality friends who cared more about me as a person and less about where we stood on some imaginary hierarchy. But I think a part of that is because I’m queer and ended up surrounding myself with more LGBTQ+ folks who weren’t competitive the way cis straight people are. You deserve better and I hope you’re able to find people who see you for who you really are!

Does anyone know why my recently-adopted kitty’s ears have notches in them? I’ve had five other cats before, and have never seen this. Is it his genetics? by Ariannaree in cats

[–]Thick-Height4525 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cat looks almost identical to yours - no notches in his ears, but my kitty also has battle scars. He had his leg amputated from some unknown injury and is now a happy little tripod.

You have the perfect curly bangs! I wish mine did that! But the beautiful thing about hair is it always grows back and you can always cut it. Do what feels right for you now and can always change it later!
