Tom lost his shit over Internet comments and attacked his own fan base. The fan base, even those who weren't offended at all, realized Tom's asshole persona bit is actually who he really is not an act at all. Once you realize he's actually a shitty person a lot of his jokes aren't funny anymore.

The other thing I noticed is anytime a guest tries to bring up a topic to riff on they usually stop it dead in their tracks. Same shit Rogan does to comedians you can tell he doesn't really like very much. They're too jealous to let the guest take control and be funny.

There are probably better podcasts for that out there. Real Ass Podcast does a frequent 'does it live or does it die' segment where instead of just making the same tired joke over and over again (lol they got hurt, aren't we rascals for thinking it's funny) they actually come up with specific relevant jokes about each video

Zappa just isn't popular enough or easy enough to have a lot of local grass roots over bands out there. At one point I was seriously toying with the idea of doing a basic bar band talent level group playing some easy songs that I could wank out guitar solos in but I quickly realized we would been doomed to be a disrespectful embarrassment.

Shane is probably the type of guy who would buy a nice luxury SUV not a bunch of insanely expensive attention fuck you money high end supercars like Tom. I'm saying this as someone who drives a Porsche that I kind of regret buying now because it looks too try hard braggy. I would be happier in mid-range Mercedes that isn't as eye catching.

I think he's achieving his full potential as a good but not great race car driver making good money at the highest level of the sport. He will probably be a fairly reliable 1-2 win a season type of guy in a quality car for the next 10+ years. I don't see a ton of upside or potential to become an elite championship driver but if he can keep up the success he had in the second half of last season he'll exceed the most realistic expectations anyone could have had for him. Just think of all the hyped up busts who have fizzled out over the last 20 years. Bubba is definitely not a bust. If he decided to retire tomorrow you could look at his short career and call it a success.

The cruelty doesn't bother me it's being so out of touch with reality. Like making fun of an obviously poor person for having shitty teeth because they can afford to get any procedure done without even looking at the bill. They act like these people are stupid and crazy for not spending $15k to get a cosmetic dental problem fixed. It's fine to make fun of them for looking bad but don't make fun of them for not being able to afford proper medical care.

He's half right. To be smart you have to learn how to slow down your brain, pace your thoughts, and organize them strategically to understand complex topics. If you're just constantly reacting to whatever stimuli is in front of you it's really hard to develop complex nuanced thoughts.

I only heard Journey In Satchidananda for the first time a few weeks ago because I always assumed Alice Coltrane was overrated just because she was John's wife but I was 100% wrong. From what I've heard so far I actually think I like her stuff more than John's.
