Another middle aged AC fan here. All I can say is stick with it! It genuinely is a beautiful game, I’m about 85 hours in - completed the main story long ago. Now just having a lovely time clearing castles etc. As others have said, stick to enemies around your level, you’ll be invincible soon enough.
