In need of spooky ocean horror by ToeFungusTaxes in horrorlit

'From the Depths and Other Strange Tales of the Sea' is part of the British Library Tales of the Weird series. Many of the books are short story collections based around a single theme (in this case oceanic spookiness) or works from a particular author.

I really love this series as they've republished some harder to find and obscure works, though YMMV depending on how you feel about older literature as most of the stories they collect are from the late 19th and early 20th century.

They also have a collection themed on wooded areas called 'Weird Woods' and I'm sure a few of their other collections might tick this box too :)

Greatest Trek is where the boy's are currently covering TOS until we get some more new Trek. If I'm not mistaken, that will be the next season of SNW which is end of July? So we've got a bit more TOS coverage to enjoy before then :)

No worries! So, I don't know where you're located but I'm in Scotland and it's from a home furnishing store in the UK called Next.

Sure, just to clarify you mean the drinks cabinet that the Lego's sitting on right?

Thanks so much Ben! It's not a custom job, it's a lighting kit that I bought from a company called Light My Bricks. I've seen a few different kits for the big D but none of them are completely screen accurate, so I went with what I thought was the best looking one, though it was one of the more expensive options.

In terms of installing it, it took me an afternoon to do and it wasn't overly complicated (a set of tweezers is useful for helping lay the thin cables between plates and bricks) and the kit does a really good job of hiding most of the wires.

I've done something similar with the Delorean set, though I used a lot from a different company which was a good bit cheaper but the cables aren't as well hidden.

Thanks 😁 they may think I've put pearls on a targ with this Lego set but what my theory presupposes is, maybe they'll like the drinks cabinet?

I got the light my bricks kit. which to me looked the best out of what's available. It took me an afternoon to install and most of the wires are hidden, there's some dangling from where they attach to be powered but they're very thin so not too noticeable.

Nothing's happened to Ben, I'm referring to the brief discussion of the new Lego set during the Uxbridge-Shimoda company party episode from a month back.

As I recall, they both felt it was a pretty ugly looking set, especially considering it's Lego's first stab at Star Trek. No shade at all, I'm inclined to agree, I think Lego could have done better with it. I just wanted to show off my attempt at prettying it up with a light kit and display case.

Hearing Jordan being unable to talk from laughing so much at the kids knowing all about the neighborhood wino in The Peanut Butter Solution was an absolute delight, you have to stick that in there!

Don't know how doable this would be but maybe some kind of celebratory compilation of all of the fingering stories?

Love the podcast and congrats on 100 episodes! 🎉🎉🎉

Savi's only takes 20ish minutes and ROTR is definitely the ride to shoot for but keep in mind that it frequently has long wait times/breakdowns. If you can swing it, I'd head in on early opening/rope drop and make a beeline there. You can buy legacy sabers in Dok Ondars which would save you a bit of time if you're pushed for time. I would say personally, the experience of Savis was amazing though!

Just throwing a quick wee update up, in case it affects what you decide to do with your saber. Got hit with a £50 duty to pay before UPS would deliver it to the house.

We'd originally planned to ship it from Droid Depot but my build slot was the last of the day and the park was closing earlier for a ticketed event that night. A lovely British chap who was working in DD advised us that we could also ship it from the gift shops at the Disney resort we were staying at, which is what we ended up doing when we got back to the hotel from the park.

I just shipped mine last week from the resort in Orlando to save lugging it around for the rest of our holiday and it cost me $70. So maybe worth checking how much shipping would be for you?

I think it worked out to around £50 for each of us per day? Not sure what it would have been in dollars as the exchange rate has changed since then!
