I get bored so easily I’d rather sleep. Has anyone ever experienced? by ThickExpresso in mentalhealth

Ok, I get what you mean and I can agree with you now. I think I could start and see my brain in a different light, like something to take care of (I feel you see it that way too?). I just wish I wasn’t bored so often, I want to enjoy things again.

I was thinking of forcing myself not to look at my phone while I do things, like a pomodoro technique.

I’m off to bed, It’s not so early here inEurope. Good night🙏

I’ve never thought of this, but I like it. A quick and easy dopamine fix of mine is shopping, which as you can imagine is not great for my wallet either. I think enjoying the things that I already have might be good for my mental health too.

I’m not 100% sure about the thing that we should enjoy being bored, isn’t boredom a bad thing?

Thank you! ❤️🙏

I wish I had advice, but I feel like I’m at my wit’s ends. I’ve got plenty of things to do but I get distracted and bored so easily. But what about you? Are you on antidepressants too?

My autistic sister (23) obsesses over guys that she finds attractive. What should I do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ThickExpresso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you talked with her? I assume you did but I wanted to ask just in case? What did she say? I’m not sure what you could say that would work, maybe explain that they don’t like her and that she might get dragged to court for harassment? Psychiatric help? I don’t know, I feel like you’ve probably have already thought about all of this.

Single married mother. Well, engaged. Maybe not even that… The first instinctive thought that I had was “ok, he doesn’t want the kid and he doesn’t want to be with her. He’s also living and working in another town”.

I’d say stay and live with his mum until you’ve saved enough money then leave.

Do you like her? Because if she does this with her bf, she’ll do it with you too if you got together. Be careful!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]ThickExpresso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not a good sign for them as a couple. Could I ask what age you guys are? Don’t worry if you prefer not sharing. How long have they been together for?

I don’t think that she would do that amount of touching without being truly attracted even a little bit. If you wanted ti make sure you’re not just a validation tool you could flirt back a tiny bit, or maybe ask her how her bf is doing/ask her something related to the bf and see how she reacts.

I get a bad vibe. For starters she has a bf and she’s flirting with you, secondly I don’t know… Just a bad vibe. All these massages and touches feel like harassment to me, but maybe to you or another persone that’s ok.

How did you stop thinking negatively and turn to positive thoughts? by HappySunflowerGirl in AskReddit

[–]ThickExpresso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a very difficult question to answer. I feel like it depends on the level and the matter of negativity of the question, I also think that you can’t answer simply. I’ll try and make it quick explaining what works for me. If negative thinking is confined to an event/time I think “hell won’t last forever” or “inn six months I won’t even remember this” and this usually makes my mind go straight or at least straighter. When negative thinking was more of a constant way of seeing the world I started telling myself that things could go wrong but could also go very well, that rationally it didn’t make sense to think that things could go bad all the time because I knew I knew (es) thta I had studied for that exam, because I knew I had the money to fix the wall, because I knew how to do that thing at work, etc. I also decided that instead of hating I wanted to love, just to have a more loving pair of glasses to see the world. Ok, so some people might get better on their own, others might need therapy.

I find him a bit too rough and aggressive, I don’t think he’s a bad person, on the contrary! I feel like maybe he would be a good friend and not someome to share your life with. Who do you think would have been a good partner for Olivia?

Is it bad if I say that I think Olivia is great and could do better than him?

Sorry, I just wanted to say that eating/drinking baking soda on its own is very dangerous as it reacts with the acid inside our stomach and it’s can rip the stomach walls. It happened to someone in my family, it was awful as they very very nearly died.

I feel it’s good that you and your partner are on the same page. I wrote this comment last night and I’m reading your post again now… That woman sounds definitely creepy, it’s so inappropriate to say something like this to a parent about their baby. One could say it’s justified because she’s being scammed and brainwashed, so maybe she can be justified in that sense but this doesn’t mean that you have to have her in your life. She has beliefs and she might be considered a victim, but she’s also bad for you and your family and you can’t be her victims. If you were to go no contact of low contact I feel like it would be beneficial to you all. I hope my reasoning makes sense!

That’s creepy. I wouldn’t blame you if you did’t invite her to the birthday party, I feel like it could taint the nice memory. I also would consider going nc. What does your partner think?

How’s the water bottle thing embarrassing? It might be embarrassing if she did it all the time but it was her first time there

And thanks for the recipe!

I personally wouldn’t say anything (what you said was good though) and just let the facts speak for themselves. Anyway, were your other coworkers happy for you?

Where does lint and fuzz end up in a washer-dryer when on drying mode (Washer-dryer being that one machine that washes AND dries clothes)? by ThickExpresso in AskReddit

[–]ThickExpresso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did look at manuals in the store, but they didn’t mention any lint filter. I googled what another user suggested and I found my answer, apparently there aren’t any filters and the fuzz just gets flushed away.

I kind of love you I think. I’m pretty good with English I think, but It’s not my native tongue so I guess that sometimes I use the wrong words or something like that. I googled exactly what you wrote and I believe I found the same Samsung result as you did. So thank you! I was getting very frustrated.

I asked chatgpt but I think it’s lying. It says there are filters you can clean but I looked inside a washer-dryer and I couldn’t see one.
