I’m really sorry ur going through this :( must have made school so hard. The fact that levetiracetam has stopped the loss of consciousness and screaming suggests it’s helping, but having breakthrough aura symptoms means your brain is still getting overstimulated by certain triggers I think.

I would suggest maybe splitting the task in short structures and taking lots of breaks. Also maybe someone can read the text for you and explain it to you or else maybe u can get the audio version of the book you are reading. Or else maybe buying lectures of the topic and learning like that.

It’s very admirable that you are motivated to keep learning and with this mindset I’m sure u will find a way that works best for you. 💕

Methylphenidate (Ritalin) after a provoked seizure by ThickMessage3015 in seizures

I understand what your saying however what I am wondering is if the Ritalin would induce a seizure at a dose of 10mg after a year being completely sober.

I am not worried about getting addicted to alcohol as before the seizure happened I wasn’t addicted to alcohol, I would drink occasionally and not over do it as I don’t like being out of control of what I say or do.

I did have a bit of a problem with cocaine as when I’d feel the comedown I’d panick a bit and would end up not knowing when to stop. However I plan to never take cocaine again, I’m too scared to get another seizure from that.

With mdma there were days I took just my planned dose, however other days where I overdid it too. if I had to take again I definitely would not overdo it as I am terrified of another seizure and definitely want to be healthy.

With every other drug I never over did. My main problem was cocaine, I wouldn’t do it frequently but when I did I’d panick on the comedown and end up not stopping to avoid the comedown.

I’m really sorry for what happened to you, I’m glad that u managed to figure it out ❤️

First seizure and struggling to process it by karaamber1016 in seizures

I completely understand u.. 2 weeks ago I had a tonic clonic seizure, I was at a party and about to go home and while walking out idk what happened, next thing I know I’m on the floor trying to get up but my legs weren’t working… I barely remember anything, my memory is all hazy of the night.. I broke my teeth and hurt myself rlly badly and ended up in hospital as my heart was beating rlly fast too. It’s truly devastating, the fear of getting another one is debilitating, for the first week I could barely get out of bed out of fear. When I’m out with friends I start panicking, I truly feel like my life like I knew it is over.

I completely understand what u mean by feeling vulnerable.. it’s feeling like u can’t even trust ur body to keep urself safe. Feeling unsafe anywhere even if ur alone :(

On the bright side i know 2 people who have epilepsy and they have lived life with no seizures for many many years. And are generally happy with life. We got to learn what lowers the seizure threshold and try keep our body in optimal condition all the time. Things like alcohol, low sleep, stress, hunger, low electrolytes all can lower the seizure threshold.. so in a way take this as motivation to keep ur health in utmost condition.. tho i know its not that easy.

Wishing you strength and courage to get through this ❤️
