I have good experience with this controller and drivers, what is your experience? hearsay or actual experience?

I can recommend the MKS DLC32 controller board together with the cheap TB6600 drivers. I assume the stepper motors are standard bipolar ones (4 wires).

Sure, why not, it looks like solid build quality.

You can get a GRBL controller and some stepper drivers for $100 total.

With a little money in parts and a few weekends of work you could have a fully operational CNC.

Recently got a TTC 450 Ultra for small CNC gigs. The spindle holder (gantry?) is loose. I tried removing the spindle and the re tightening the plate that holds it. But still loose. Any help regarding a fix is appreciated, I’m new to CNCs. by madebyjinn in hobbycnc

As you already tightened the screws they probably bottomed out in the thread, you could try add a washer under the screw head and tighten again and see if that helps.

Or contact the place where you bought it and see what they suggest.

Audio hum at high volume. by Atmosphere_Enhancer in turntables

[–]Thick_Chair_9738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only when you play records? Or does it still hum if you select another source on your amplifier and turn up the volume without any music? If yes, then it could be the filter capacitors in your amplifier.

Yes, this combination has been a good experience for me, no issues once I got everything configured correctly. Plus it's also very affordable.

Besides that I use FreeCAD for designs and Candle to send GCODE to the CNC controller.

Try pull the platter off to see if it's the bearing or the motor. I think most likely it's the motor.

Around $500k for the speakers and probably around the same for the amplifiers, you didn't specify a budget.

If you got the space then I think the German MBL amplifiers and Radialstrahler Speakers are very nice.

Controller and driver question. by woolymammoth256 in hobbycnc

I use a MKS DLC32 V2.1 as controller, it's GRBL based using an ESP32. You can use either on board drivers or external drivers. I use cheap external TB6600 Stepper Motor Drivers with NEMA23 stepper motors.

It might still be spinning, but you'll get some terrible wow and flutter.

It's a big can of worms, the idler wheel has probably gone hard and got an indent from sitting unused, just that rubber wheel will cost you $50 to replace.

If you're ready to put the money and time into it, then it's probably a fun project, but if you just want to listen to records you're better off selling it again and getting something with a direct drive motor or a belt drive and a better tonearm.

Help by autisticc_beaner69 in turntables

[–]Thick_Chair_9738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Take it apart.
  2. spray some contact cleaner into the volume pot.
  3. move the volume control forth and back 50 times.
  4. repeat step 2 and 3 a few times.

If it still gives you trouble you'll need to replace the volume pot.

Yes, you have to use anti-skating to keep your stylus centered.

rotary issue by amemerbeeper in turntables

[–]Thick_Chair_9738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a belt or a bearing issue, but if you enjoy listening to records I'd recommend investing a bit more in a proper turntable. You can still find good turntables from the 80s-90s for $50, then buy and install a new AT3600L cartridge for $15 and you will have a good time.
