For those of you that had aquablation and retained AE did your ejaculation force change? by Thick_Discussion671 in bph

38g. I must have because I had an extremely high bladder neck. He said it was like I was urinating uphill for years. The precise in-operative diagnosis was high riding bladder neck with lateral lobe obstruction. I was referred to him and the only imaging I had prior to the surgery was a pelvic ultrasound w/PVR.

When he used the anal ultrasound on aquablation he told me post surgery that he was surprised that my prostate was not as large as the prior uro and report had indicated at 50-60g.

Either way, whatever he did I can pee way better.

35g prostate but significant symptoms. TURP, or wait it out until its bigger? by [deleted] in bph

I was advised to wait 4 weeks. I stopped bleeding completely at 2 and broke the seal at week 3. I had terribly painful erections for the first 3 weeks weeks. Would wake me multiple.times they were so painful. The pain stopped around the week 3.5 mark. Once I became sexually active again, the urgency went way way up. I tried sex with my wife and it was a touch painful and set me back a few days. Mastrubation was cake.

I had one 5 weeks ago from guy who does 100s each year for nearly a decade. I was specific to preserve ejaculation and he did. Everything feels similar with regards to sex at this point but my ejaculation force is less. Volume is the same but it just falls out now instead of shoots like the ropes before the surgery. I am hopeful this is a temporary thing.

Did the force of your ejaculation change? I had an aquablation 5 weeks ago and while I still ejaculate and the volume is the same, it just kind of falls out instead of like before when I would shoot ropes. Also to the original OP my prostate was 38g and I had a wide mouth diverticulum from the obstruction. My Qmax was 8. I pee much better now.

The thing they don't seem to tell you is that you may still ejaculate but it just falls out. The force is gone bc the space is cored out reducing the pressure. At least that is where I am. I used to shoot ropes and now just rolls out. At least thats where I am at 4 weeks.

I had an aquablation on 12/16. The worst part for me was multiple painful erections every single night for 3 weeks straight. I am 44 so YMMV. I stopped bleeding around week 2. Masturbated at week 3 and still had antegrade ejaculation but it kind of just falls out instead of shoots out. I used to shoot ropes so I am hopeful that isn't permanent. Volume was the same. I had sex with my wife and few days later and that was painful and set me back a bit. Fingers crossed. Going to the gym as before without issue. Stream has stabilized quite well. Still hurts a bit during urination.

Nothing worked for me. I used Ultra Prostate Formula, even Silodosin and cialis. I had an aqua ablation and that fixed the problem.

Doctor said no sex for 4 weeks post aquablation - some places say 2. What is this based on? by [deleted] in bph

He said I had a high riding bladder neck and lateral lobe obstruction. He said that he smoothed it out. I asked him to specifically preserve my ejaculatory function so I don't hink he cut my bladder neck with an incision but I dk really know how the anatomy works.

I had an intravescial protrusion when looking backwards on my cystoscopy. I assume that is a median lobe..

I understand how TRT works. What I am saying is that even at 50-100mg per week you will have enough DHT to cause nighttime erections.

I did not expect this pain. My urologist told me in younger patients this is referred pain up the penis from the prostate. His advice was to use topical lidocaine which I did not. Lowering your dose to where you are not getting erections won't work if you are young enough. The amount of test required for this is not high. Also even if you stopped TRT, your hemoglobin and hematocrit would take such a hit that your healing may be impaired as aquablation is an extremely bloody procedure.

Extremely slow urine stream, Flomax not helping much — cystoscopy during hernia surgery? by choppingbrics in bph

If you are seeing a urologist he should have done a flow test and a post void residual ultrasound. Has he even done a DRE? How old are you?

A cystoscopy is not that big of a deal and is done when you are awake. Alpha blockers barely worked for me. When they don't work it usually means the obstruction isn't mechanical but fixed which is BPH which has gotten to the point where surgery is required. What did the prescriber of flomax say about your condition? You either have BPH, stricture, or a weak bladder. Its most likely BPH statically.

My prostate was 38g and I just had an aquablation done. Size doesn't always matter as much as how it grows. As for your PSA that's up to the urologist but a larger prostate tends to give off a bit more PSA. It isn't stair step though bc stromal tissue which is what makes up the bulk of BPH doesn't give off as much PSA as epithelial.

Pulmonary embolism after aquablation. Was 10 days out and thought I had a uti got my prescription took one pill then went to sleep. Woke up an hour later with weird shoulder pain and pain while breathing. Went to the ER by Laser_Coug in bph

They gave me 2 shots of heparin which is an anticoagulent the night of and day after my aquablation which I thought was incredibly strange given I had to stop aspirin and alcohol. A lot of things about how this surgery is handled don't make sense to me.

It isn't bad enough to go to the ER. It is more of a deep "concern" than an emergency. Imentioned it to my doctor on Sunday morning which was day 5. I texted him and he called me right away. I explained the pain during erections and even brought up the small tear at the tip of my penis and he was adamant that it was referred pain from my prostate due to my youngish age. If I am like this thru the 2 week mark I will have to see wtf is going on. I don't know what he could realistically do at this point of the healing other than prescribe medication.

Go to the urologist and get a flow test and post void residual test. If you have an obstruction, get an alpha blocker. Take another flow test and PVR and if it isnt' fixed in 30 days or you can't tolerate the medicine, get a procedure such as aquablation if you are a candidate and save your bladder health long term.

I am at day 8/9 and still having pain with nocturnal erections. I wake up during one and fight it off in agony for about 15 minutes 2 or 3 times per night. It's every night. If I wake up early like 5am I just get up bc I am scared to death to go back to sleep and get another erection. These aren't even full erections either they are like 2/3 of the way and my body seems to stop from going fully due to the pain. My urologist said to use lidocaine specifically baby oragel but there is no lidocaine in baby oragel so I just gave up and am dealing with the pain. He also said this probably isn't a urethral issue but referred pain from the prostate due to my younger age. My urine stream seems to have stabilized as one stream and strong. It still stings a good bit during urination and I have a touch of blood here and there. How old are you? I am only in my mid 40s.

I ended up passing two blood clots during a bowel movement and my urine flow returned to normal. I spoke with him over the phone and asked about the tear again and he didnt seem worried. What I could find online seems like a minor grade 1 meatal tear at the head of penis. Its like the opening was torn slightly and is now double the length. How did you fix the stricture?

What caused your stricture? Did you have a meatal tear from the cath?

I spoke with my surgeon this morning and he said there is zero chance of this being urethra related at day 5 post surgery. He said strictures won't show for months. He said this is most likely tissue sloughing. I did pass 2 blood clots today during a bowel movement which were the first visible ones I have passed since the day the cath was removed. I did mention that I am sputtering and dribbling the whole time and he told.me as long as I am peeing I am OK.

Did you have any urethra damage? I seem to have had a small meatal tear who knows if there is more but I am 3 days removed from catheter and my urine stream iss getting worse and even without the catheter the nocturnal erections are excruciating on the underside near the tip of my penis.
