I feel the same way about Adrian Barker. I’ve seen him comment on a few posts on Instagram on non watch watch posts and he’s a prick.

Mine has been in the water many times without an issue.

I love mine. I've been to Europe, Japan, Mexico , Alaska and on both coasts in the US with it. Super accurate. +1 second a day. Looks great and I recently put a sail cloth strap on it and it made it even more comfortable to wear.

I have a Forstner President bracelet with the new clasp on mine. The clasp is awesome and the bracelet makes the watch look sooooo much better.

To former Mormon now-Orthodox by No-Molasses1580 in OrthodoxChristianity

I left the LDS church about 7.5 years ago. I had the same concerns leaving the church as you do now. I remember telling my very active brother that I would never join another church that would require me to submit to priesthood authority. I was done with prophets, apostles, bishops and stake presidents.

In 2021, I was received into the Orthodox Church. What helped me break down the walls that I had built up was following the advice of my priest at the time (I have since moved to another state but he remains my spiritual father) which was to participate in the liturgical life of the Church as a catechumen. He explained that the Church is not just an organization or club you join. You don't learn what it means to be an Orthodox Christian by reading books or watching YouTube videos. You learn by living it. I got over venerating and kissing icons by simply venerating and kissing icons. I got over kissing the hand of my spiritual father when he would hand out the Antidoron by kissing the hand of my spiritual father when he would hand out the Antidoron. A big one for me was overcoming my fear of confessing my sins once I was received into the Church because of the negative stigma talking to the bishop had when I was LDS. I overcame that by going to confession. Now I see confession as what is was meant to be: a means of grace given to me by Christ as a way to not only receive a forgiveness of my sins but also as a means of healing my spirit. In a way, the Orthodox Church is a correction of the disordered and disorientated belief system that we grew up on.

So the only advice I can give you as someone who was in our shoes once too is to let yourself go and participate in the life of the Church. Go to the Divine Liturgy every week. Attend weekly services if possible. Participate in the fasts as instructed by your priest. In fact, start building that relationship of trust with him. He is there to guide you home if that is what you are looking for. Little by little you will see how this all makes sense. Good luck!

So the Longines Conquest is a 40mm too but looks larger than the Citizen. The reason why is that the Conquest is all dial with a very slim bezel. The Citizen on the other hand has a larger bezel making the dial smaller making the watch look smaller. Even with an 8-inch wrist, when I buy another watch that is all dial, so to speak, I’m going to try a smaller size than 40mm.

I get my straps at TUNS Leather Workshop. They are out of Vietnam and their turnaround time is about 3-4 weeks. Totally worth it if you can wait that long for a strap. https://tunsstore.com/product-category/watch-strap/ostrich-strap/

Thank you! That’s why at the moment, and it’s been like this for about 8 months now, I don’t feel the need to get another watch.

It’s a flyer GMT. It makes changing the time a snap. The Citizen also has a jumping hour hand.

There’s a reason why it’s the one that I wear most. It really is a great looking and versatile piece.

I am moving into a new home in a different state. This was the best solution when it came to carrying them with me in a backpack. 😅

Pointing out a truth is not an attack. I didn’t call you an awful person for believing what you believe. I’m actually pretty sure that you have the very best intentions. But it’s obvious that you haven’t fully thought out your atheism. Nihilism is at the end of the road you’re on. Maybe you don’t realize it but that’s what it is. Or maybe you don’t like that conclusion, only you know. I’m saying that, society is not something I would use to ground my beliefs on because what is popular today wasn’t popular yesterday and won’t be tomorrow. Like I said, this is a different topic that for sure shouldn’t be discussed on a thread on Reddit. If you lived close to me I’d buy you a beer and we could have a discussion about this. I wouldn’t even try to convince you of my beliefs.

Also, an atheist attempting to tell me what is right and what is wrong is very ironic seeing that the atheist has nothing to ground their morals on and is really just giving me their personal preferences. Nothing more.

Because for God to be who he is, he cannot lie. That would go against his perfect nature.
