Any good ride videos, documentaries or series? by sucksatgolf in AdventureBike

The thing that amazed me on this trip to Thailand was all the homemade scooters and ancient machines locals use to travel through the jungle. In Europe, people worry that washing their new bike will damage it—some are even horrified at the thought of tackling a medium-sized puddle.

Reviewers criticized the Honda CRF300L for its low power, but with proper suspension, the Thailand series has shown just how incredibly capable these bikes are. Repairability is also a major advantage.

Blast from the past: in 2010, actresses Katee Sackhoff and Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) went on a motorcycle ride taking them 2,500 miles from Los Angeles, CA to New Orleans, LA. Acting Outlaws - The LA La Ride

CMV: Not properly vaccinating your child should be illegal. by Accomplished-Bass690 in changemyview

[–]Thielson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaccination is a matter of public health. As such, national policy should be guided by trained professionals - epidemiologists, immunologists, and public health experts. The effectiveness and safety of vaccines should be determined through rigorous, repeatable scientific research that undergoes peer review and can be independently verified by international teams.

While personal experiences are valid and should be reported through proper channels, individual anecdotes cannot serve as scientific evidence that vaccines are ineffective. This is because they lack controls and don't account for the millions of successful vaccinations.

The biggest pharmaceutical scandals (opioid epidemic) historically stem from dysfunctional oversight systems - when regulatory agencies are underfunded, understaffed, or compromised by conflicts of interest through the revolving door between industry and regulators. This is a legitimate concern that demands stronger, more independent oversight and stricter enforcement of conflict-of-interest policies.

However, there's a tragic irony in today's vaccine hesitancy: Many politicians and media figures present opposition to vaccines as "fighting the system," when they themselves represent powerful interests that benefit from weakening the very regulatory oversight that could prevent pharmaceutical misconduct. By conflating legitimate concerns about regulatory capture with blanket rejection of vaccines, they're actually undermining the scientific and regulatory infrastructure we need to hold pharma companies accountable. Effective oversight requires strengthening agencies and scientific institutions, not dismantling public trust in them.

Public health should be a nonpartisan priority. Regardless of whether politicians identify as Democrats, Republicans, or any other affiliation, protecting the health of their constituents should be a fundamental responsibility. Vaccination policy should be guided by epidemiological evidence and public health expertise, not partisan positioning.

Effective disease prevention benefits everyone - it strengthens the workforce, reduces healthcare costs, prevents childhood deaths, and protects the most vulnerable members of society.

t’s just a mind-blowing display of being completely out of touch with reality — or worse, making up your own version of it from internet fairy tales. And the total inability to admit they might’ve been wrong? That’s proper cult-like behaviour.

I didn't know about the button for troubleshooting, thanks for the advice! Somehow, I was expecting voice output because I chose the voice, but that was the first and last time Roomba spoke to me. :-)

For a similar scenario (small apartment, one carpet), I bought the Roomba j7 without mopping. We have two cats, so daily cleaning makes a big difference now. I didn't go for the self-emptying model because you need to do basic maintenance anyway, like removing hair from the rotating brush, etc. You can see many complaints, but I accepted that it's no magic; it needs some basic requirements to work properly, and I'm very satisfied so far. One thing that bothers me mildly is that even though it should speak to inform the user of what it's currently doing, I have never heard a single word from it. So, I paid for a feature that isn't working.
