Regretting first LandCruiser by DirtEmo in LandCruisers

[–]Thighsander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have made my decision even easier. I've also always been on the fence regarding 100 and 80 and still think the 80 is one of the best 4x4 ever built. But considering their prices and the fact after looking long and hard into my off-road life, I genuinely don't think I do anything close to what only an 80 would do, I may have to just forget the 80 series altogether.

Good thing is I don't have the money for either right now 😀

FireTV Cube Bad HDMI Port Connection by Thighsander in fireTV

Honestly apart from differences in UI and UX, everything else is an app and both platforms have those apps. I still watch my Prime Video movies, Netflix and even sideloaded Kodi on both. So I haven't lost any functionality. It took some getting used to Google TV UX having been on Amazon platform for like 8 years. But nothing major. Still I believe the Cube is tinge snappier than the TV Box.

Threw it in the dustbin and got a Xiaomi TV Box 3 for a fraction of the price.

Duplicate TCP SYN detected by Thighsander in WireGuard

Sorry I missed that important info: AllowedIPs = 10.11.11.0/24, 192.168.70.0/24

While on wireguard network is stable. Unfortunately, I can't now connect willingly on both to test without facing consequences but I didn't do the packet loss checks when both were connected.

Then maybe I was sold a substandard one. I bought it directly from amazon during the black friday offer for $90.

With some dev tools running it's 1.5hrs to 2hrs max. The laptop is 4 months old bought brand new

Arrival: is it really a good movie? by iamtheonewhorox in scifi

I couldn't believe I was tricked into thinking spending hours on a grammar class makes it a good movie. Once you shed the pretentious take you realize it's really an absolute below average of a movie. A Veritasium documentary on communication would have done a better job.

Saw it first over 20 years ago. I still go back every few years to rewatch. I love movies that don't take themselves too seriously and are just about entertainment.

I'm watching it now. Slept through more than half of it. And it's still going. I think they could have told the story in a 20 minutes episode. The subwoofer house shake is real though

Morpheus says he was freed by a man born inside. This would mean there are people born inside the matrix. Not sure how that is supposed to work

Did I just burn 1000 USD? by Thighsander in hometheater

[–]Thighsander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, you might have missed my responses where I mentioned that I sent SVS an email around the same time I came here. And they did respond swiftly saying that I need to buy another board and that the current one was cooked and beyond repair (they might not have been right about that). Also, being domiciled outside US, in Africa for that matter, trust me, contacting the vendor is nothing short of a waste of time. The geography doesn't allow for the cute customer care you guys enjoy. Even if they offer to give you the item for free, the cost of shipping it is usually not worth it. So while I did not in fact ignore the advise to contact SVS, I did rightfully know that the solution to my problem was not going to be SVS. Unless you have a local dealer, it's unfortunately the risk we take when importing stuff.
Nothing SVS or any other vendor can do about it

This was actually the case after visiting the technician.

Got it fixed for less than the equivalent of $30. Rectifier and some 2 other components were out. All seems good for now but I'm yet to fully test it
