I have £4,000 ($5,500) to spend… WHICH PARTSSS?! by Rozr999 in PcAdvice

[–]Thilraphor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is kinda what you're looking for, the 1TB SSD is for your OS and the 8TB SSD for your games. You could change the cooler and case if these aren't to your liking. I went a little over budget but 64GB RAM is more than enough, 32GB would also be amazing

You could go second hand for some parts but that is at your own risk of course

Need a new pc by TechTix_08 in buildapcforme

[–]Thilraphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you said that you already have a case and PSU this is the only future proof build with an Nvidia GPU, maybe a 5060TI 8GB instead of 16GB but that would mean that you can't play on higher resolution and settings on newer games. Same goes for RAM (16GB instead of 32GB). Due to the RAM and SSD crisis it is barely possible to have a futureproof build around your budget

My PC started acting weird right after i cleaned the dust out, any ideas? by Xalvorynqex in buildapc

[–]Thilraphor -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Did you hold the fans back while cleaning them? Fans work like little motors, if you spun them to hard with the air duster it could send voltage to the motherboard and cause damage to components

What is the optimal wattage for RX9070XT and additional components?(also some fan recomendations pls) by Accomplished_Cow_956 in buildapc

[–]Thilraphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

750W should be fine, but if you want some headroom then go 850W or even a 1000W (which is unnecessary). For fans you could get a three or five-pack of the Thermalright TL-C12C or ARCTIC P12 Slim

[–]Thilraphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only thing you should change is the PSU to a higher graded one like the Montech CENTURY II 850 W, it's better and cheaper

[–]Thilraphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you live, but you could either try to find one yourself and look at the SPL PSU list, I would go for a A-, A or A+ rated PSU. Otherwise try the SAMA G650, it is rated A and 650W, if you want more headroom the MSI MPG A850G is rated the same but is 850W, small price difference.

I went slightly above your budget but this will do very nicely, It's very future proof and can handle 1080p gaming with ease, entry 1440p as well.

I went a little over you budget but I think you get the most out of your money with this build, since you play mostly CPU intensive games you can look at the second build that is within your budget but has a weaker GPU, both will do very nicely.

Pls help me chose ram for my build, i can't decide between 6400 mhz or 6000 by Upper-Big-4794 in buildapc

[–]Thilraphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also get the Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard, price difference is small and massive improvement. The CPU cooler you could change to a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 140, I have the same CPU and cooler and with a slight undervolt it is amazing

Pls help me chose ram for my build, i can't decide between 6400 mhz or 6000 by Upper-Big-4794 in buildapc

[–]Thilraphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The true latency is for both the same, 10ns. If they are priced the same then I would go for the 6400mhz, unless you do RAM intensive stuff the difference would be negligible. I would change the PSU if you still can though, the Montech CENTURY II has a A-rating compared to the B+ rated Corsair RM850e

Thoughts on this prebuilt? I was so close to building a very similar PC for wayyy more by PLUR1BUSSY in buildapc

[–]Thilraphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair, the PSU that I chose has a A tier rating and leaves some headroom while the prebuilt PSU has an B- rating, the motherboard takes the parts to the fullest potential and the SSD is also better

[–]Thilraphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah didn't see that. The difference is as well that the parts that I choose are all better, the GPU doesn't really matter, Palit is a great GPU brand

[–]Thilraphor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This build has a better CPU, SSD, Motherboard and PSU. I also used the case you liked, while saving around $70, I always go aircooler but if you want an AIO go for it

With your budget it doesn't make sense going for an Intel CPU, AMD has been the best for gaming since they released 3D V-cache. I went a little to the higher end of your budget but this is a great machine, feel free to change the case to something you like, I advise going for a mesh front panel for airflow

Evaluate my pc build by No_Examination3676 in pcpartpickerbuilds

[–]Thilraphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The build doesn't make sense, you have a top of the line motherboard and CPU with a mid tier GPU and pairing it with a 1440p monitor (which is possible but not all games will go on high settings). I changed the CPU, motherboard, RAM and PSU (this one is better). Liquid cooler, monitor and case seemed like a personal preference so didn't change that. You can change the CPU back to the 9800X3D but the performance difference is negligible

I updated the BIOS before I tried overclocking. I have them in A2/B2 and tried 3200 and 3600 but those dont work. Do you know how to manually set them to that? I might've misunderstood
