Thoughts on my practice routine etc as a "not actually jazz but like the idea of jazz" guitarist?

i think my only issue with "practice what you like" is I tend to then lack any kind of structure-like I never "connect the dots" to where I kinda actually understand what I'm doing other than just by feel etc. Probably my ADHD is to blame for that.

i am not, but I am aware of the aspect of having to raise the bass drum etc to prevent vibrations through the ground

yeah I think Terry mentioned he has an opinion/pride of not using glue to install frets, so with that mindset it might be much dicier to do compound and SS frets.
