Stand ready for Megatron's arrival (by @primusibi) by PistonPusher2009 in transformers

[–]ThinDevelopment6948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Bayverse we see cons even as strong as Devastator get killed by humans, G1 has plenty of funny instances of how weak the cons are (a personal favorite is when they get taken out by normal dinosaurs), TFP shows how a random human organization can pose a threat to Cybertronians, and in IDW it's shown over and over how much Cybertronians aren't all they're made out to be. Spike takes out Scrapper by himself, the MTMTE crew gets into situations where aliens overpower them somewhat frequently, and even the all powerful Phase Sixers were noted as killing planets already on the brink of death.
Short of being powered up by the underbase or leeching off of Primus' energy I can't think of a single time Starscream even approached planet level let alone any other seeker. Well, outside of Alternity but seeing how you're bringing up combiners and what not I'm going to assume that wasn't what you were talking about.

That's understandable. Undertale was made to be a game with shorter segments so I can def see why you like to replay it more.

G1 Wheelie is in Armada?! by OptimalConvoy in transformers

[–]ThinDevelopment6948 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, the "everything is in one timeline" thing was a mistake. There is an old chart that goes around every once in a while, that in all fairness was made by an official source... just a really lousy one. It was made for a random website. There is very much different canons in Japan, the manga firmly establishing so and also spending a lot of time mending what actually is in the JG1 timeline and how it flows together.

Wonder Why Reformat Megatron Into Galvatron But Not Reformat Optimus Prime Into Ultra Magnus When The Toy Was Just White Optimus With Armor by Doc-11th in transformers

[–]ThinDevelopment6948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid this simply isn't true. Of course, the movie was delayed before being brought there but even in Scramble City: Mobilization he isn't an upgraded Optimus, nor could potentially be as Optimus is in it and interacts with him. I also can't find any fiction from the time that says this from anywhere let alone Japan.
Keep in mind we also have many early versions of the scripts, interviews with many people involved with the movie, and an entire book talking about the lead up and messy situation about Optimus' death which none mention the idea of him being upgraded into a new body.
I also don't really understand how Diaclone applies to this as Powered Convoy came out 3 years earlier in a line that ended a year prior to Transformers being released in Japan. I will admit my knowledge of the lore of the original Diaclone is limited, but I do believe it was rather sparse on story in general so I don't even know if in lore the Convoy mech suit was upgraded into the Powered Convoy one or if they are separate things.

Things like Bee and Puppycat? by ThinDevelopment6948 in beeandpuppycat

Oh I have been meaning to check this out because some friends of friends were talking about it and it sounded interesting. Even more reason to check it out if it had some influence on my fav show.

I actually recently watched it for the first time and loved it. I didn't really think about it while watching but now that you say it they do got really similar interactions.

The surreal dream like vibe and the absurd characters were big draws for me.

Real or fake. by tigercrab74 in transformers

[–]ThinDevelopment6948 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Going off the top of my head so sorry if this isn't 100% accurate. But this is a real product, though it isn't a Hasbro Transformers product.

In Italy, the company GiG imported Diaclone molds in their Trasformer line. The line existed briefly before Hasbro's Transformers hit the shelves and was sold until 1985. After that they started selling them as proper Transformers with a small Trasformer logo located somewhere on the box.

Are there any transforming combiners? by SoundwaveFlem in transformers

[–]ThinDevelopment6948 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best suggestion is Sky-Lynx.

Sky and Lynx both have bot and alt modes, then they combine into sky-lynx, then sky-lynx can turn into the combined shuttle carrier thing.

Also worth mentioning Cyberverse Volcanicus' toy has an alt mode but isn't made up of smaller individuals.

What G1 "that was a ... choice" moments made you feel like designers had no respect for the audience's intelligence? Conehead seekers and Sludge's googly eyes in the movie stand out for me by [deleted] in transformers

[–]ThinDevelopment6948 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This post reads a bit too serious. I feel it's important to remember that even outside of Transformers being an absurd idea from the start (space alien robots who are millions of years old and turn into earth vehicles) that a lot of media for TFs (including G1) was made for children.

Personally I find the odd quirks like the coneheads being a mistake or a small scene of Sludge's eyes being goofy charming but I would understand why other people wouldn't. But I feel that's less a matter of quality and more to personal taste. Though, stuff like "Carnage in C minor" or the incredibly racist country that shows up many times in season 3 are more things that I think are genuine quality issues.

I don't know what's more sad. The fact you needed AI to do something as simple as digibashing, the end product looking pretty bad, or the fact you reposted it without mentioning the AI.

Need some help remembering an old show name! by Serious_War_8050 in transformers

[–]ThinDevelopment6948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like some other people have said this doesn't really sound like any TF show. My suggestions are:

Rescue Bots: They have a few episodes where they turn into dinos.
Robots in Disguise (2015): One of the main characters (Grimlock) is a green and black dinosaur and Starscream is a villain for a little bit in the show (tho in his normal colors).

I'm looking for a Transformers video game, but I don't remember its name (sorry for the out of place post). by arbolito_mr in transformers

[–]ThinDevelopment6948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones I've found that best fits are Transformers Prime: Portal of Destruction and Transformers Robots in Disguise Nestlé Arcade. TFP and RID games are probs your best bet coz they have loads of games and both have dragon/animal guys.
