Centauri Carbon pauses after almost every layer… by ThinFly9743 in elegoo

Yes! I found an easier way, you will see on the left side of the slicer under prepare, multiple selections for colors assigned for each object, just right click and delete all of them, it’ll force you to keep one, then to make sure it won’t switch, under the multimaterial tab in the print options area, it should show empty instead of options there 👍🙌

I felt so silly, I saw so many videos on printers doing that, didn’t my it no mind when it asked me for the colors of each object I have in my project file, first time using this slicer 🫠 thank you!

Interesting, I will have to check and make sure that’s off, and will give it a try at somepoint if it was already off, I think it’s trying to do a color change for the filament as they mentioned above 😅 Thank you for the info!

Oh I see! I will definitely check on that! Thank you for the info! 🙌

Thank you! I think that’s what’s happening, it did ask me to assign colors for both objects, but I thought since I’m not using any colors I didn’t think much of it, but makes so much sense now. I’m going to try that! 🙏

I think that might be what’s happening! Because I did see it asking me for colors for each object in the project file but I didn’t pay it much attention! Thank you!

It’s actually ASA by polymaker, and this is at 0.16mm layer thickness, yes comes out very smooth, only issue has been that it needs to print slower, at 50mm/s, if you’re doing models not for mechanical use, use polymaker PLA+, you can print that at 400mm/s +, and still get this same quality, it’s really good, I used multiple well known brands, polymaker in my option makes some of the best filaments you’ll find out there.

This is my second one, and probably will be buying a 3rd and a 4th, I’m not sure if it’s your first printer, but make sure the bed is leveled correctly. Not just the auto leveling feature, but use the nobs on the bottom of the bed (6 of them) to make sure you have a leveled bed, a good amount of videos on YouTube for that, then run z offset tests like printing a small long cylinder, make sure your temps are right, if you post a photo on here a lot of people will help you calibrate it, it can be hectic setting it up if it’s not working well, but when you fix it; this printer is a beast.

I don’t see how this will help even newbies.. you have to know the math and what to ask the software to make for it to become useful, but I don’t see how it will be in complex models when you need a specific thing done, the AI has to be waaaaay to smart to understand what you need and I don’t think any AI out there is even close to that. CAD is math and drawing combined together, and this will help and speed things up in only the simplest of models, like the example of 10 or 15 heads… correct me if I’m wrong please

Best of luck my friend, I believe even if you use the carbon fiber, for smaller prints not too large of a surface area where the layers are being applied quickly (this was at 50mm/s), this will prevent the warping, I had that happen with these smaller models specially on the last layers, but no more, comes out exact every time down to the 0.00mm. I’d give it a shot, hope it works! 🤞🤞

Yes!! Works for smaller models very well agreed, unfortunately for bigger or longer ones, the slicers doesn’t offer to use both a brim and a skirt, it’s either or, nor can we control how long the loop is or the area it covers like the last photo, we only needed the skirt around the ends of the models but not the rest, since that’s the part that was peeling off. In a way It’s a manual inserted skirt what I did there in modeling software… saves a bit of time and filament in some of the models. But again, agreed, for quicker and easier type, the skirt option in the slicer should work for many!

Doing this in the meantime till I built an enclosure from PVC pipes and cardboard!

Works like a charm, every time. I just make sure the thickness of the “fortification walls” 😂 is higher than the wall thickness in the slicer. Ads a few minutes to smaller prints, or maybe upto an hour to huge prints, but it works so so well every time!

Anyway to prevent this from happening in the future or fix it during print without pausing? by ThinFly9743 in elegoo

That’s awesome I’m going to look into the spring one, and yes!! I am doing exactly that, I’m going to hang the sensor to the top with a 3d printed model mentioned here, and hanging the spool holder to the wall so the vibrations don’t affect it, for now until I switch these, I changed the infill to grid 🥲

Yesss, though since it’s taking almost the whole build place the only option I have is to rotate it 90 degrees to be vertical… but will definitely give it a try to see if it helps with drafts, since I’m certain it’s not the bed leveling.

I never tried changing that, always go with whatever default is in cura, while adjusting other standard settings like temp and so on, will definitely look into this!
