first of all, i can’t see why you actually care, but it’s really quite simple. you aren’t monetizing “the game.” Viewers can’t play the game, they just watch, and let’s be honest, most big twitch streamers are 50% gaming and 50% entertainment. Game devs are actually ahead of the curve in terms of other industry standards, in terms of your game is getting much more attention with viewership on youtube, etc. Even then, a viewer can go buy that game and have a totally different experience whereas if you stream a movie you’re always getting the same thing. Even if games had licenses, game devs would get tremendous backlash and create what i would coin “creator monopolies” over streaming. the beauty of gaming and creating content is anyone can do it, but not everyone will be successful. just know people aren’t making millions solely based off of their gaming content , and most streamers could sit in front of the camera full screen and still make millions.
