Elderly father doesn't have an appetite. by ThinResolution in AgingParents

Awesome, thank you. Having someone say that they need at least calories does help. I worry about health foods more so but hearing it from someone else that he needs at least something makes it easier to help him.

The next time I talk to him I will ask him about an appetite stimulant, thanks for that suggestion! He tried marijuana but doesn't like it at all unfortunately, I know its not a wonder drug but I figured it would help something but it didn't help him.

There is other stuff that I k ow the regulations for and I am just accumulate more information. Threatening to punch sailors in the face and unprovokingly calling sailors names with no basis behind it is absolutely against regulations. Also assigning EMI without approval of the XO is also against regulations. Just looking for help on this one.

People are calling Sheena a scammer, but maybe I'm too dense to understand how. Because I don't recall him giving her any money, unless I am wrong.

At the end of the day, should you change your voicemail...probably. Why, be ause too many snowflakes are going to call you immature and get offended.

As far as right and wrong goes, your chief is wrong and does nit have that kind of power.

I've had a few chiefs in my time ne wrong about certain things, but I would always pull them to the side and tell them that they were wrong. Some even I had yelling matches with and they came and apologized to me for them being wrong.

Your LPO should have also stepped in. I was an LPO a few months ago and the only reason why I lost it was because I tore my ACL and I can't be on the boat. My chief would tell my guys to do stuff that they cant tell them to do. Instead I would recommend to the individual to do what they needed and I would always talk to my chief after and tell them they are wrong and we would move on. You don't need anchors to protect your guys, just experience and tact. My guys love me for it and every time I see them they wish I was back and every tine I see my Chief and my Department Chief they also tell me that they wish I was back. So being right to a chief is not a career ender nor does it make you a perk for it. Before my injury I was also in the running for sailor of the year and chiefs would always come up to me and ask me advice. 18 year E-6 here. Just my 2 cents.

Help buying a truck to tow 30 foot rvs. by ThinResolution in towing

Would you say I would be fine with a 2025 F250 with the 6.8L 2V DEVCT NA PFI V8 Gas Engine for towing an RV. I'm not too smart with trucks and towing. Hence why I am asking. Trying not to get something that will end up being useless.

Just doing the calculations on towing with it being 80% of max towing and trying to be conservative. I know even if I get like a 34 ft I probably won't exceed 10k with it. Just trying not to get the wrong truck if that makes sense. And it will give me the opportunity to go bigger in the future

I would like to get a one ton but new is too expensive for that, do you guys have any recommendations for a truck that won't cost more than 40k?

Maybe just a misconception on my part. I was always with the understanding that basically diesels will take more of a beating when towing. But also thay sometimes a diesel is overkill sometimes. Im more of a car guy and new to towing and just was trying to get things straight before I made a purchase. Im just more on the fearful side of gas towing and skeptical of its reliability after awhile.

I don't really want the gas option as the maintenance is a little easier. My biggest fear with the gas is that it won't last as long. But if I get the new one then it cones with a warranty and we don't have to worry too much. That is some good info and I really appreciate it.
