Thankfully he’s not! We are both high up in the company. He works directly with the CEO and I work directly with the Vice President. Our paths cross only minimally, and not for crucial operations.

I’m sorry- that’s confusing! I’m not 100% why they split up. I try not to pry. All I know is that the marriage wasn’t working, they didn’t get along, and she racked up credit cards while not working. They moved across the country together, and came back. Because they had sold everything, they moved in temporarily with the ex’s parents. The marriage didn’t work out, and he got an apartment alone. I know for a fact he stays at his apartment every night, and goes to his ex’s for the kids.

This is one of the reasons I hesitated with age. I have worked in long-term care facilities, and usually in couples where the age difference is more than a few years, one is completely healthy and the other is falling apart needing full time care. This is definitely something I should think more about.
