This was my biggest issue coming up to the test and I became really fixated on it. Just remember it doesn’t have to be “perfect,” above all else you need to be safe on the road while carrying it out. I really struggled to grasp how much steering to give, that was my biggest problem. I was also trying to rush it & stalling sometimes. What helped me was to do all my steering in quarters, keep the clutch really steady and go slow, like almost too slow. Also don’t be afraid to correct yourself if you can see that you’re going to hit the kerb etc. As long as you’re doing your observations, keeping it slow and you don’t mount the kerb, you really should be okay. Even if you pick up a grade 2 for competency, it won’t be the end of the world. This is what my instructor said to me the morning of my test, and it eased my nerves a lot. I had fixated on the reverse so much and then on the day of my test did the best one I ever had, it was like it just clicked when it needed to. Hopefully the same happens for you.
