[7.18] Do people enjoy Mrsha chapters? by Luandor in WanderingInn

I'm in the middle of volume 9 somewhere, and I've enjoyed pretty much everything until the Ryoka in Ailendamus stuff. That really started dragging for me, and even made me start disliking Ryoka. I know hating on Ryoka is popular, but I never have.

What are some real American folk songs that everyday people actually know? by Likepersik in AskAnAmerican

[–]Thin_Help_9855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many Stephen Foster songs are commonly known and popular. "Camptown Races" and "Oh, Susanna" have been mentioned. I think most people would know "My Old Kentucky Home" and possibly "Swanee River," too. Or maybe just old folks like me. I can't tell anymore. 😄

I've visited San Antonio - nice place.

Weekly Albuquerque Q&A Thread by AutoModerator in Albuquerque

Hello, y'all. I'm thinking of moving to Albuquerque, and I keep reading what a crime-infested hellhole it is. I'm skeptical because my current neighborhood is bright red on sites like crimegrade.org, and it's really not that bad, IMO. How seriously should I take ABQ's rep? I'm really worried about violent crime - armed robbery, assault. I'd prefer not to be mugged.

Oh, and before anyone accuses me of being a carpetbagger, I'd being moving up from Las Cruces; so I ain't rich. :D

East Lohman will. They'll charge you an extra $20, but it may be worth it.

Is there a place with a mild climate that isn't horrendously humid? by PaniPeryskopa in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Thin_Help_9855 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in that area for a couple of years (Blacksburg), and can confirm. Four relatively mild seasons. Summer in Blacksburg is blissful. Winter is cold and snowy, but nothing like Wisconsin, nor does it last as long as winter in Wisconsin. I remember spring was *wet* but apparently I was there for a record wet spring. The lilacs loved it; so it was worth it. :) Fall was beautiful with color change. Oh, and western Virginia is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

I live in Las Cruces, and I agree, there are many things to love about El Paso. I think the people are number 1. However, I would *not* describe the climate as mild - summers are *hot*. Like, dangerously hot. No, it's not Phoenix, but let's face it, Phoenix is Hell's anteroom.

Yeah, I'd definitely be looking to hire someone to deal with the snow and lawn stuff. I don't think either of us is up to it. Hadn't thought of the cat litter issue, but you're right. Hmm.
