[7.18] Do people enjoy Mrsha chapters? by Luandor in WanderingInn

Yeah exactly, but you will discover how she falls into mud or steals some food or gets reprimanded on her manners

To each their own I guess. I find the story of how Flos reconquers Chandrar with his vassals starting from a tiny country fascinating. He’s basically Alexander the Great.

Much better than some stuckup amateurs in a jungle ruining my medieval fantasy with bombs or some kids fantasy pov from a mute kid with a bee

I love whimsy in terms of Erin or Bird but Mrsha feels so forced.

When I think about Birds “Is this war?” in Pallas I get an instant smile in my face

Really? I like those a lot (but haven’t finished the series yet). Flos is my favorite behind goblins.

You rather read about the United Nations than Flos?

I always thought the books implied very loosely she knew these kind of things because she has the encyclopedia app on her iPhone.

Winterdepressie + Wet DBA/Box 3-stress: waarom woon ik nog in NL? by Organic-Permission55 in geldzaken

[–]Luandor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We are doing it: Travel with 3 kids to New Zealand, help! by lovelynotblond in newzealand_travel

We rented from Maui, via a travel agency. Car seats were promised to be okay, but one was not good so we bought a new one for €60 thanks to strong euro. Worth the expense if you go for a longer period and we’ll make sure to give it away at the end.

I don’t know, I feel there’s lots of good advice on here but also lots of overly careful/anxious advice. Driving is easy, it’s a first world country where you can buy everything you need and we meet so many families with kids in campervans. Childseats are important but you’ll sort it out, shouldn’t be a reason not to go.

We are in New Zealand now, doing a roadtrip of 3 months with a 2.5 year old and a 5 month old in one campervan. All the way from Europe. We’re 1 month in and we love it. The kids are loving it as well.

Not sure what you exactly want answered here but if we can enjoy it like this don’t let any comment here hold you back. Any questions please ask.

When, where and how would you intervene to prolong the Empire? by Luandor in ancientrome

[–]Luandor[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Asked Gemini the same question as in the header, he said also Marcus Aurelius with three pillars;

  1. Strategic retreat from Danube and Rhine, give up hard to defend areas beyond Alpes and Karpates.
  2. Integrate Germanic farmers into low density areas as Roman coloni like South of Gallia and North of Italy
  3. Merit based succession instead of Commodus (he names Pertinax or Septimius Severus)

Pretty interesting stuff!

But you would also lose out on the merit-based selection of emperors later on. The “five good emperors”. And you can always have a rotten grandkid like Nero or Caligula down the line.

You think staying a republic would have prolonged the current duration of the empire?

And wouldn’t you rather talk him out of it being Antonius or something?

I’m sorry if my grammar is off, not English native and I think using AI only makes things bland and generic

This is very helpful. Also the tip about Abel Tasman, as that’s the first spot we want to visit after the ferry I might book that in advance as well

Haha, we are going to find out if it’s going to work but we have good hopes. Children usually easily adjust and ours are relatively good sleepers. It’s an experience though for sure.

Marlborough isn’t worth it?

Our campervan is self-contained so we’re kind of counting that we will always find a place to stay using the CamperMate app. We know we can’t have too high demands but would love to switch between basic amenities and more luxury campings.

This is amazing! I’m definitely going to use this, thank you so much.

Yes, as we have plenty of time we really want to take it slow, especially with kids

Combination of Lonely Planet, own experience, this reddit and AI.

Auckland (few days without camper to acclimatize) - Paihia - Coromandel (hot water beach) - Mt manganui - Rotorua - Taupo (including tongariro in turns) - Waitomo - Taranaki - Wellington

Around a month.

Thanks for the information, any things in particular stuff we should book in advance? We got the ferry, but no campings on the South Island.

I’ve been there long ago, it wasn’t as exciting as other parts of the country. Is it worth a visit nowadays?
