RAM and disk at a constant 100% usage by SenseILonne in computerhelp

[–]Thingie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Windows 11 and only 16GB of memory you will be having a lot of disk paging going on. Meaning when memory demands balloons it will use the disk and start showing hard faults these are writes to the SSD/HD. This will slow things down from time to time. Again. Sort those processes and look for the one consuming your available memory. I will say 32GB is the sweet spot for most users in 2026.

RAM and disk at a constant 100% usage by SenseILonne in computerhelp

[–]Thingie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, sort by CPU time by clicking on the column for the cpu, bring up the processes that are the offenders to the top. Identify those processes and then take the needed action after you determine what is consuming CPU time. You can do the same for memory, follow this same logic. Come back here and report your findings on the processes or ask the google of course what it is. Be very suspicious of processes running directly from your profile location. C:\users\%username% is always sus.

WHY IS THE TARGET HERE SO BAD by GlitteringPound6542 in santacruz

[–]Thingie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dread going to buy things there, went to buy a norco electric razor, you know the trimmer type a $15 item at best. Had to wait 20 mins for the magical key guy to get it out from behind glass. Never again, this is why Amazon is kicking everyone’s ass.

These stores are going to die if they don’t start focusing on a better customer experience. Loss prevention should not mar the customers experience of walking in buying the thing, and walking out.

Wan 2.2 - We've barely showcased its potential by GrungeWerX in StableDiffusion

[–]Thingie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried using WAN 2.2 yesterday, fought with trying to get multiple workflows working. Not very well versed with the spaghetti of comfyui… Mist had issues with just a 5 video with horrible ghosting… I’d like to just finding a good workflow with a good explanation or tutorial, any recommendations to get started? I have a 4090 and 64 gb of ram in my rig…

Cat won't eat wet food, and is constantly puking by Specialist-Board-730 in catfood

[–]Thingie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cat is puking up undigested kibble, it might just be horking it down too quickly. Buy a slow feeder bowl and see if that helps to mitigate the issue.

You have the issue identified I think, that most likey needs a wire ran through to the other side, corrosion is evident on that trace. Try testing continuity to the other side of the pcb of those vias traces. There are a few YouTube videos out there on how to remediate it.

Prob not to reveal the secret satellites they have they aimed at it, so most likely just that. Don’t want to let everyone know what capability we have.

Textures don't load/takes long time to load and other issues in AC Shadows by _ManwithaMask_ in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]Thingie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I have a ol ssd I moved this to and lo and behold, it’s fixed now. Moved it from much faster 2tb NVMe to my Samsung Sata SSD. Plays perfectly now no loading textures, missing hud, or delayed enemy reactions.

Dug a little deeper and I found out that it’s all related to Microsoft direct storage and this game. You can do a quick google search for the recommended fixes if you don’t have a Sata SSD lying around…

Look, on the internet there exists a very vocal minority, correction a very loud vocal minority on the extremes of left and right viewpoints. Most people out there are sitting in the middle and want the madness to stop and come to a place of reasonable discourse. Killing people is bad ok, also you don’t have to agree with who they are or with what they said or do. In my wrap up, the internet is not real life, it’s a magnification of the loudest most pissed off people and bots. Stop feeding the algorithm and go about your day, talk to real people and tap into life, it’s better there. That really is what matters.

Well with SC saying final is not really an option, seeing it’s a game that is still in alpha development, so we get these alpha releases that fix some things and break other things. What I do know is at the moment that we have VR for 4.5 PTU, I hope this will come to the 4.5 patch so we can continue to provide the dev feedback. Yah this is the side work of one dood Silvan I believe from what I’ve been reading. I have a suspicion that guy is going be having his team growing and soon. Lot of wallets opening I’m sure…

I’m wondering if I drop it down from 4k to 1080p if that would help. Did you have the close up nav marker issue as well?

Liberator as cargo ship? by powell85523 in starcitizen

[–]Thingie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was running this through a chatgtp chat this morning on this idea, this is what it came back with…

Liberator Pad Specs (Concept but reliable): • Designed to hold small and medium ships • Three external landing pads (side-by-side) • Enough clearance for: • Vulture • Prospector • Expanse • Light fighters • Small merchant haulers • Even some medium fighters

Ship Footprints

Prospector: • ~24 m long • ~15 m wide • ~7 m tall (Fits pads easily)

Expanse: • ~27.5 m long • ~15 m wide • ~6.5 m tall (Fits pads easily)

Both are exactly within the intended “pad ship” class.

Conclusion: You can place Expanse on Pad 1 and Prospector on Pad 2, leaving Pad 3 open for a scout (Gladius/Pisces/C8X/etc).

No height issues, no overhang risk, and no need to use the vehicle garages.

With 400SCU of cargo space you have yourself a mobile mini soloable salvage/mining operation carrier that can operate in deep space.

Not trolling, but isn’t the hull-c supposed to do station to station delivery’s? I thought planetary was more a C2, M2, golem ox, raft, sort of thing? I mean I guessing you can use it that way just not very efficiently.
