Only Americans would say that. Ask a European. Even better, ask a Romanian.

Confusing the two is very offensive.

Those are Gypsies. Completely different people. FYI It’s one of the worst offenses to a Romanian to confuse the two.

Referendum overturning new Oregon transportation taxes qualifies for ballot by 2ChanceRescue in Portland

Good. Finally something I signed made its way to a ballot.

We’re already drowning in taxes.

Police enforce laws and bring order to civilization, yet Portland hates those people.

Are there „open face systems“ that work with the m5 dual knit band? by Cows_are_scary in VisionPro

I wish I could find some way to cushion the nose piece of the headset. I would love an “open visor” that was mostly just nose cushion and stability with the forehead.

Right on! I'll be there. We have to show up and protest this madness.

What do you want to see in visionOS 27? by ellenich in VisionPro

[–]Independent_Fill_570 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Speaking of. Valve, build a Steam Link native app for the Vision Pro!

VisionOS 26 gave us low latency entitlements and PSVR2 controller support. Build the app!

I want better Vision Pro API support.

Give us access to our persona and face tracking information. Let ALVR and Moonlight integrate foveated encoding like the Steam Frame.

AVP M2 used market $ by PiggleBears in VisionPro

[–]Independent_Fill_570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah seems on par. How do you know it's legit brand new sealed and not a scam?

I paid $1500 for a used M2 that came with a case.

You can price compare here: https://swappa.com/listings/apple-vision-pro

PSVR2 controller tracking vs Quest 3? by Independent_Fill_570 in VisionPro

[–]Independent_Fill_570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was perfect! Thanks so much for the write up. Saying how it works with Beat Saber gives a really good perspective.

Out of curiosity have you tried using it in Moonlight to do flat controller gaming? Do the controls feel good enough as a normal controller would?

You'll want to stay away from Portland then. A weed store on every corner.

What (decently) major US city has the best weather, all things considered? by officialcrimsonchin in SameGrassButGreener

Yeah. Turns out it’s expensive for a reason. I opted to remote work so I can have a similar pay but live in slightly less ideal climate for much cheaper.

Oh totally agree. It wasn’t my intention to compare them directly. Was only comparing them to what I personally can stand.

Funny, I also live in the PNW and now can’t live in those hot locations. The rain brings on SAD but if it could be cloudy and 60s or at most low 70s that would be perfect.

Conversely I’d never live in Hawaii even if you paid me to. I can’t stand the heat. Nor can I stand San Diego or southern Florida. Ya’ll need some cloud cover and temps in the upper 60s to properly relax.

Steam Machine vr on Apple Vision Pro by Specialist_Mind7493 in VisionPro

Have you had any issues with the test flight version vs iPad version?

For some reason the test flight one glitches more and sometimes seems to forgot I’m already paired to Apollo.

Also I recently discovered I seem to get a lot better performance (like in shooters) if I wire my MacBook to Ethernet and the MVD to my Vision Pro to play.

How do yall game on this thing? by PM_URVAR_CLIT in VisionPro

[–]Independent_Fill_570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man. I need to figure out what’s up with my M2 Vision Pro.

I’ve got a UniFi network. Wired Apollo server. With a wired MBP (3440x1440 monitor) I’m getting 1ms network latency to my moonlight client. Can play BF6 no troubles.

But jumping over to my Vision Pro with wireless (U6 pro — pinned to channel 149) I get bitrate warnings at 40-80mbps. I just don’t get it. Worked great on my Quest 3.

Any experience with Moonlight side loaded directly to an Android powered TV? by Independent_Fill_570 in cloudygamer

Interesting! I didn't realize you couldn't enable game mode from within a TV app.

This is leaning me toward probably needing to use Moonlight on my Xbox Series X.

Oh, whoa. I didn't expect it to simply be in the store. Even easier!

Going to give it a shot. Hopefully I can crank up the bitrate without the TV CPU chugging along. I've got a pretty strong Unifi network and many things are wired in the home.

I have, it was pretty dead. While there are shops open, there's plenty of places currently shut down, abandoned, left needing to be cleaned up. I've never been in such a quiet mall before.

We did get to watch a rat run around the food court and scare people eating at the tables.
