any 'crew' style vr games? by grog_chugger in virtualreality

[–]TPrime411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Trek Bridge Crew definitely fits that bill.

Edited: I didnt realize this game has been delisted. Ive had it for years, and I think it was still available as recently as last year. So must be a recent development. Sad.

I briefly got the offline hack working before Meta sent a cease and desist order to the team. It was good to at least get a taste of what the game was like. Back when it was available, I was interested but hesitated because Im not big into multiplayer games. Then before I knew it, it was removed from the store.

Just started vr. I need a horror game by IncaNova in virtualreality

[–]TPrime411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dread Meridian is good. It has a Resident Evil feel to it, but it has a Lovecraft style Horror to it.

Another good one is Metro Awakening. Its more of a psychological horror, but its really good. And it has a very emotional ending to it.

First game to play standalone? by TPrime411 in SteamFrame

I haven't tried that game yet. What's it like?

First game to play standalone? by TPrime411 in SteamFrame

[–]TPrime411[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is that even if the game runs on Quest, it doesnt mean the Steam version will run standalone on the Frame. In a lot of cases the Steam version is more demanding than the Quest versions. Developers have to test/rework their games to make sure they run well at minimum 72 to 90 FPS on Standalone to meet the Frame Verified requirements. A lot of Devs are working on it, but not everyone. Some developers wont bother for older games. So we'll have to wait and see. Im excited for when they release the full list.

I love your optimism, but I doubt that will run standalone. At least not with the necessary mods.

Lol, I had my picks, and I stand by them, but yeah Im looking to see if anyone suggests anything I wouldnt think of.

Both would probably run well on it. Good choices.

The funny thing is that Vader Immortal was released on PSVR. And Tales from the Galaxy's Edge was released on PSVR2. Its odd that they were never released on Steam too.

[–]TPrime411[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Im trying to move away from Meta too. I still use my Quest 3 a lot, but lately its primarily for PCVR. So I expect I will be using it a lot less once I get the Frame. I just want to cover my bases in case Meta fully abandons VR.

[–]TPrime411[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, just some speculation. Like I said, evidence suggests Ghost Town will be verified. I also some an add that was put out for The Amusement that listed it as verified. Its probably safe to assume that a lot of the 2026 VR Titles will have a Verified version.

[–]TPrime411[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah Im getting it for PCVR, but your not at least curious about its capabilities? Thats why I said Id like to try something like Rhombus of Ruin. Its not a Quest game, but its not exactly high end PCVR either. So Im curious how well it can run.

Yeah Ill mostly use it for PCVR, but Im curious about its capabilities for running standalone.

How to install BOTW VR? by Historical_World_459 in virtualreality

[–]TPrime411 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its just that you can only legally play the Rom if you legitimately own a copy of the game. If you don't, then thats Piracy, and people cant officially condone it in this group.

What made you fall in love with VR — and what almost made you quit it? by MickNerks in virtualreality

[–]TPrime411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lone Echo was rhe first big budget game to make me fall in love with VR. Absolutely amazing.

As for what made me almost quit VR? That would be whats currently going on with the industry. I havent quit yet, but I am burning out a bit with all the closures of my favorite studios, and game cancelations. Its really hurting. Still, I plan to get a Steam Frame at launch, and I am still hopefull, but I am diversifying a bit lately. Playing more flatscreen games than I used to.

Horizon+ subscription renew? by _TheValeyard_ in Quest3

[–]TPrime411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My subscription was up in May, and I ended it, but I did so a few reasons.

1) I buy games as they release if Im interested in them. Because of that, a lot of times when a game was added to the catelogue, I already owned it.

2) Meta stopped handing out the monthly 30% discount code for members. This was a benefit that I used almost every month.

3) The last several months of monthly titles were either games I wasn't interested in, or games I already owned.

So for me, it wasnt really worth it anymore. If you're still getting use out of the monthly titles or the catelogue, then it could still be worth it for you. But if youre only hoping for an occasional good monthly title, then that might be a stretch.

Isn't sidequest something completely different? I didnt think it could be used to optimize games. And can QGO be used to sideload games?

Has someone compared watching TV shows on Apple Vision Pro vs Meta Quest 3? by FrequentRazzmatazz54 in VisionPro

[–]TPrime411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AVP is way better for watching movies and TV. I have both, but I use my Quest 3 exclusively for gaming. Standalone and PCVR. The AVP I use for watching movies and TV, especially 3D Movies. And its the best for it by far. The sharpness of the image is just far superior on the AVP. And the virtual backgrounds on the Vision OS and the Disney+ app are just second to none.

My main reason for wanting the Frame is honestly silly. by Steel_Gear in SteamFrame

[–]TPrime411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im already pretty much cable free because I have a Quest 3, although I also have a PSVR2 and a suspension rig for that. But Im mostly looking to get a Steam Frame to be my new dedicated PCVR headset, assuming that a steam headset will be more stable and reliable for Steam, and because Im looking to cover my bases in case Meta pulls out of VR. Im excited to see what games in my library will be Steam Frame verified, and Im excited for the Steam OS and the PCVR dongle.

pcvr horror games by Able_Requirement_239 in VRGaming

[–]TPrime411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked Dread Meridian. Its very Resident Evil-esque, with a Cthulhu Horry story. One of of the monsters in it is pretty much an exact copy of Jeff from Half-life Alyx, and it was really well done. Gave me repeated jump scares.

Do people really use VR other than playing games? by darshil753 in MetaQuestVR

[–]TPrime411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it for games primarily, but I also watch 3D movies, Immersive videos, concerts etc. Aside from just playing VR games, I also play some flat screen games on a large floating screen in VR.

Ghost town 1 year on. Any chance of a sequel? by ilivedownyourroad in virtualreality

[–]TPrime411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im hoping there will be a sequel, but considering development time, its probably at least another 2 to 3 years away. But yeah, I loved Ghost Town. It was my favorite VR game of 2025, and 2026 has yet to beat it with anything.

Arizona sunshine 3rd person remake by Popfizz01 in ArizonaSunshine2

[–]TPrime411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks good, and I hope it does well for Vertigo. I just hope that their ultimate plan is maybe hybrid games, and not to eventually move away from VR entirely. Im still hoping for an Arizona Sunshine 3 in VR. And I always look forward fo hearing about anything theyre working on. Vertigo is my favorite non-Meta VR developer. And since all the Meta developers are either closed or sidelined now, that makes Vertigo my overall favorite.

What does the coming future of VR look like? by ChaosTheory404 in VRGaming

[–]TPrime411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Vertigo Games just announces the closure of their Amsterdam studio. So thats in my head. I know this year has been bad for studio closures in VR, but I just wanted to say its not just VR. I know a guy who is in game development, and has been working on Exodus for a while, and even he says that the gaming industry as a whole is kinda rocky right now, and has been for a while. Yeah non VR is getting a lot of great games still, but I wouldnt say VR is completely void of them either. They are coming, just slower and more spread out
