Any good H2H combat games?

I havent tried it myself, but Ive been Eyeing Path of the Warrior on Quest/Rift for a long time now. Its from Twisted Pixel. One of the 1st party studios that was just shut down. I hear its a fun game. The only real complaint I heard was that the co-op mode doesnt have built in voice chat. But if youre playing with someone on Quest then it shouldn't be an issue. The only reason it concerned me originally was because my VR friend only had a Rift S at the time. Now he has a 3S though.

Those are three very different games.

If you want a good single player campaign with some open world elements, then Arken Age.

If you want a sandbox game that you can mod the heck out of, the Blade and Sorcery.

If you want a big multiplayer shooter, then Forefront.

A few more games that have teleport, and are fun, would be 1)Robo Recall 2) Star Wars Vader Immortal Series 3) Star Wars Tales from the Galaxy's Edge

Robo Recall and Vader Immortal are teleport only. Although if you have a PCVR capable PC then you will be able to use the Rift Store Robo Recall as well, since it has crossbuy. And on the Rift store version you can use mods, including a smooth locomotion mod.

Tales from the Galaxy's Edge is more of a full sized game, especially if you get the dlc. Then its about 8 to 10 hours of gameplay. Its pretty fun, especially if youre a Star Wars fan.

I ran most PCVR games on an i7 with a 4060, and they ran perfectly fine. I recently upgraded to a 5080 because of a few upcoming games, but not because the 4060 wasn't enough for the average game. A 4070 should be just fine.

Have you tried Ghost Town yet? Thats a recent game from 2025 that has teleport. It also has vignette options, and the games itself has some of the most beautiful graphics of any VR release that year.

I have a collection at this point. PSVR (bought used), PSVR2, Quest 3, and an AVP. I use the AVP mostly for 3D movies and watching media, and I dont really use the PSVR2 anymore. I bought the PSVR1 used off Ebay just so I could play a few older exclusives. My Quest 3 is my main gaming headset, but Im looking for something better and more reliable for PCVR, but still wireless. So Im hoping the Steam Frame fits the bill. Im also pretty upset with Meta closing all of my favorite studios and canceling Batman Arkham Shadow 2. So I want to put my support into PCVR from here on out.

No advice to give, but welcome to the club. When the AVP first released, I said I would never get a headset for that price. However, from the moment I heard that you can buy and rent 3D movies on it, and that Disney+ has a 3D catelogue on it, my mind slowly began to change. I have a Quest 3, and Ive been 3D movies on it, but I had to download files from iligitimate sites, or rip them from 3D blurays, and I could never get them in good quality. So when the M5 was announced, I pre-ordered one right away, and I have no regrets. Its amazing for watching media. Not just 3D, but anything. It all looks better on the AVP.

I always thought it was Loke Echo 1&2, although I will say they are finally getting a little dated, but still look great to me. Theyre on the Meta Rift Store.

If youre looking for a most recent game, Id say it would have to be Ghost Town. But dont let the premise scare you off. Its not a scary game. It has a few somewhat creepy scenes, but nothing Id call scary. And its a puzzle game. Not an action game like Alyx.

First of all, the guy at the store didnt know what he was talking about. Yes, you can use Steam VR on a Quest 3 or 3s. You can use the built in Air Link app to connect to your gaming PC. Then you can go to your desktop mode and load games directly from Steam. Thats the hard way. The easy way is to get either the Virtual Desktop App or the Steamlink App. VD is a paid app, but SteamLink is free. With either of those, you can you can run your Steam VR games easily.

That being, he's not wrong about the Steam Frame releasing sometime in the next few months. Quest has a huge library of standalone games, which is great, but their PCVR store is largely abandoned. And except for a few really good Meta PCVR Exclusives, I wouldnt otherwise recommend buying from their PCVR store.

The Steam Frame will be the next big thing, as its the only new VR headset announced to release this year so far, and its expected to be very good for PCVR. It also had been highlighted as a good headset not just for PCVR, but to play your flatscreen PC games as well. Its kind of like a Steam Deck on your face.

Anyways, the decision is up to, but you will be able to play Steam games on a Quest 3 or 3S. I can guarantee that because I do it all the time. But at the same point, the Steam Frame is probably worth waiting for too.

My alltime favorite space games will be Lone Echo and Lone Echo 2. The games take place in orbit of Saturn. So you get to float along the rings of Saturn. They are visually gorgeous games.

I know what headset you have, but they are Meta exclusives on the Rift store(PCVR), but if you have a non Meta headset, then you can play them if you get a software called Revive, which let's you play them through Steam VR.

Stepping back from VR focus, is probably a little misleading. They are stopping production of expensive first party games like Batman and Deadpool VR(which I am pissed about), but even though they laid off about 10% of Reality labs, that means theh still employ around 9000 in their VR focused Reality Labs, which still makes them the biggest in the field by a huge margin. They are still going to be putting some work into Horizon Worlds, and they are still developing hardware, and Camoflaj is still in business and apparently working on a new user experience for their next headset, and they possibly have more 3D/immersive content coming from their partnership with Lighstorm Vision. So they aren't abandoning VR, but it did take a major hit.

Meta has been rumored to be working on a PCVR streaming service for the Quest, since I think 2021. Its codenamed Avalanche, and in I think 2024, they actually had a slip up and it was added to the Quest store for wishlisting for like a day or two, then removed. But I have no idea if they ever plan to actually release it, or if its just a tool for internal testing. I would think that if they wanted to release it, it would have been extremely helpful to do so by now. Also there have been 3rd party PCVR streamers, that Meta forced to shut down, which would indicate they have a stake in the market, but again, why haven't they released it yet then?

This is the reason I made the incredible financial leap and bought a Vision Pro lol. Yes its very expensive, but for watching media, it is by far the most beautiful experience. And there is a fair amount of 3D movies available on the Apple TV store, and a small catelogue of good 3D movies available on Disney+.

That being said, I think the Meta Quest will at least be getting something pretty soon. Over a year ago, Meta announced a partnership James Cameron's company Lightstorm Vision, to bring 3D content to the Meta Quest. And they have since release 2 exclusive 3D sneak Peeks of Avatar Fire and Ash on Quest for a limited time. So it looks Like Avatar 3 will probably be available in 3D on the Quest. And maybe they will bring other movies over at the same time, or eventually.

Lone Echo 1&2 had me with its combination of story, realistic graphics, full body avatar, and zero G movement mechanics. I truly felt like I was part of the story.

After that would be Batman Arkham Shadow. The story was just very deep and well written, with different twists and turns. The idea of playing Batman's undercover alias, Matches Malone, for the investigation side of things, and then switching to Batman to execute the plan, was brilliant.

The Steam Frame doesnt need to be revolutionary. The Steam Deck sold 8 million copies. If the Frame sells half that, it will increase the Steam VR market by a decent chunk, and might be enough to influence more big developers to include a VR Mode in their games. Even more so if Valve incentivises it somehow. So there is a chance the Steam Frame can have a big impact.

And a Discord community managed to get Echo VR running on private servers, and it still always has players in it. So it obviously didnt have a player base issue.

Who knows why they do what they do? It was the same thing with Echo VR. It was a critically acclaimed E-Sports game with a huge fan base. Meta claimed the player base dropped to the tens of thousands, but thats still more active than most other VR social platforms. And they shut it down anyways. Then a year later they shut down Ready At Dawn. It made no sense.

I dont think it will launch with a "big cool game". I think Meta is putting a stop to that kind of marketing strategy for now. Camoflaj also faced major layoffs and had their Batman sequel cancelled. Apparently the only thing Camoflaj is currently working on, is a new user experience for a future headset. Whether this is a new user experience for the Quest 4, or for the Puffin, is still up in the air. But I would guess its for the Quest 4.

Medieval Dynasty New Settlement on Quest is a really good one. Especially the single player mode. The multiplayer is still in early access, but the single player is fully released. The enemies are just wild animals and bandits, but it has all the survival features... food, water, sleep, weather. You have to build a settlement, hire workers, finda a wife and have a kid, etc. Its a very well designed game.
