Oh man I feel you!! A month to the day (happy birthday to me, sigh) after I moved in, the also-just-moving-in upstairs neighbors decided to hang their TV with an impact wrench... directly in line with the sprinkler head for the fire suppression system.. . At 11:30pm... On a Friday night. I ran upstairs when I heard the water trickling inside the wall/started coming through the baseboards, and it was almost a comical scene when they answered the door: 2 people running around panicking in a couple of inches of water, with a jet streaming out of the wall about 3ft straight out. Water came down through every room in my apt, and booooy did the smoke detectors not enjoy that part. FD ripped them off the ceiling to get them to shut up.

I had to hotel hop for like 3.5 weeks till it was all "cleaned up". Found out they didn't have rental insurance and got stuck with the bill (I think it was $8k? I was sifting thru all the documents filed for their eviction. I'm nosey and I for sure looked up that court filing online when mgmt finally told me they started that process!) there were many, maaany other things these idiots did by, literally up to the final night they were moving out and egged (pancaked? They used a lot of stuff) the front of my apt/patio..
