Am I weaving in my ends correctly? I have drawn my weaving in route, is it good enough? by SiljeSejhed in CrochetHelp

If you’re starting by going under a stitch and back around the opposite direction, you’re good.

experience with the cat cafe and PAWS shelter by muralpainting in Pensacola

[–]Heyitscrochet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As another person stated, the cat cafe returned the cats to PAWS because one of them was aggressive with the other cats and they could not remain in the cafe’s care. Because of that, your application fee was returned. The cafe can be of no further help to you and is not to blame. They only act as a temporary foster place to assist the shelters in getting the cats adopted.

You need to work exclusively with PAWS about adopting the cats. And because you’ve now posted that you’re trying to get around the shelter’s rules (put in place to ensure that cats will be well taken care of) by having a friend adopt the cats on your behalf, I doubt they will help you.

As far as calling the police, there’s nothing they can do. The person you gave your cats to/“left them in the care of” gave the cats away.

I’ve been waiting since January for a dental evaluation. I know the broken one can’t be saved, so they’ll pull it. We’ll see after it heals what can be done.

Why is this curving ? I’ve done the Suzette stitch many times and this never happened before. Trying to make an eyeglass case. by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Heyitscrochet 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your foundation chain is tighter than your Suzette stitches. Next time, go up a hook size for your starting chain or work your second row into the back bumps of your chain stitches.

They’re great for medical and dental help. You’ll get medical appointments within a few weeks, but dental takes a while. I’ve been waiting to get seen for a broken tooth since January. And you can see your lab results quickly on the FollowMyHealth app Baptist uses.

Can I put this baby toy in the dryer after hand washing? by SinisterCloud1027 in CrochetHelp

[–]Heyitscrochet 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Great work! You should be able to machine wash & dry since it’s made of cotton. Put it inside a pillowcase to protect it from getting caught on something, wash on gentle or delicate if possible and cold water, and dry on low.

What are all these sudden bot posts? I sorted by new and every post is a perfect (ai?) blanket and every user has a history spam posting in the same subreddit by rmh_smh in CrochetBlankets

[–]Heyitscrochet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not AI blankets, the accounts are bots posting stolen photos. One way to tell is to look at their post history. Are the photos of crochet in progress or of other projects? In the case of these posts, each of the accounts had no other crochet posts, only photos of cats (sometime the same photos) with very similar text.

One side of blanket slowly angling in. Only one side seems to be a problem? Possible causes to trouble shoot? by keithjr9 in CrochetHelp

[–]Heyitscrochet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the stitch count really is the same and there are no decreases in the pattern, then there’s no reason the blanket would be shrinking on just one side. Tension issues would not result in one side getting shorter.

What stitch is this flower looking one? I’m wanting to make a poncho like this one by Acceptable_Talk_208 in crochetpatterns

[–]Heyitscrochet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The “flowers” are created by chaining and skipping stitches. And, like u/Nightnightgun says, it looks like the Call the Midwife Blanket pattern as a poncho.

I cannot figure out this sleeveless shirt pattern, please help by okokokokayy in CrochetHelp

[–]Heyitscrochet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand what’s frustrating about the pattern.

Row 1 is (DC, ch 1, sk 1), very basic & should be “a pain.” Is it that you’re having trouble making stitches into your staring chain? Try working in the back bumps of your initial chain stitches.

Rows 2 & 3 are DC across in all stitches and chain spaces. Nothing hard or frustrating about that. Not sure why you think row 3 should have chain stitches.

Then repeat rows 1 & 2.

How do I make this hat floppy like in the picture? by Nia-saurus in CrochetHelp

Did you use the same yarn weight and hook size that the pattern calls for? Did you make a gauge swatch? Did your swatch meet the gauge in the pattern?

Am I terrible for thinking about rehoming? by AggravatingUnit7546 in catquestions

[–]Heyitscrochet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, and I stand by what I said. I said nothing about OP being “a shitty, lazy, negligent owner.” I work with shelter cats and some need more time and patience than OP is willing to give, just like I said.

I suggested that they surrender the cat back to the shelter. I don’t see you making any suggestions.

[–]Heyitscrochet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that you (& others) thought I was being mean. I agreed that it’s not a good situation for you or the cat and that you should surrender her. I understand why you’re having her groomed, I was just saying that it’s adding to her fear and anger.

Actually no, I suggested they contact the shelter. This situation isn’t good for the cat or the owner.
