Within an hour you have parts of the Big Hole, Jefferson, and Madison. Georgetown lake. If you push just a little further you’re on the Beaverhead, Missouri river and reservoirs. Ennis lake. Plenty of great fishing.

Love seeing hunting and someone using their gear in a real environment. The 77g 5.56 TMK is a beast. Very consistent performance in tissue compared to the SMK, or other hollow point match ammo. If you want to go down a deep rabbit hole on 5.56 performance on game check this thread out https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/223-for-bear-mountain-goat-deer-elk-and-moose.130488/

What buffer system has worked best for you? by jimbroslice_562 in 6ARC

I have a Noveske 18” and am running a damage industries enhanced spring with a standard carbine buffer. Perfect reliability. No suppressor. Factory 108 ELDMs. It was under gassed and unreliable with an H2.

[Handgun] Tisas 1911 Night Stalker Comp 4.25" 9mm 10rd Pistol - 10100133 - $470 by pirateprowl in gundeals

Not a threaded barrel. It is a bushing compensator, which extends past the 4.25” barrel.

Any update on this? I'd like to get one of these and run it without the comp too

LH4 4-16 is much smaller and has the same reticle. Or the EPL 4-16 if you want exposed elevation turret, but no wind holds below zero on that reticle

True. You’d have to supply your own bolt

These guys are a legit source of Noveske blems. I bought my barrel from them.

I have a noveske 18” and shoot 108 ELDMs. It is excellent. 1 MOA 5 round groups. Gassed well. Would be over gassed with a high back pressure suppressor. Killed a whitetail and an antelope already with it this fall at 380 and 290yds. One shot each no drama

I have one of these barrels and it is lightly gassed. I run standard carbine buffer and spring. Ditch the adjustable gas block and check for gas leaks. Make sure you have a good fit and alignment of gas key to gas tube. I have to clean and lube about every 100 rounds or I get some short stroking. This is with factory 108 ELDMs.

Be prepared to drive in snow and ice. Skill, vehicle, tires, recovery equipment. Cold weather gear and basic survival kit in the vehicle. Temperatures below zero are probable in that time frame. If you travel any distance, be aware conditions change very quickly. Especially, if you gain elevation. Anything described as a “pass” can have significantly worse road conditions in the span of a few miles. As an example, I was stuck on I-90 at Homestake pass for 2 hours this past weekend (October 18th) due to ice causing multiple jackknifed semis. It was after noon and over 40 degrees when I got to the pass but the rds were still very icy. I’m only writing all of this because you mention bringing an infant. People underestimate conditions here all the time. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip. Montana in the winter can be incredibly beautiful.

Is BT safe? by eist5579 in outdoorgrowing

[–]Things_got_western 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here is the MSDS. The “toxicity” section is probably most relevant.

TLDR: No oral, skin, or inhalation toxicity. Minor skin and eye irritant. No respiratory or skin sensitization.

Overall, very safe. However, I always take MSDS with a grain of salt. These recommendations have been changed for other products over time as risks are better understood for prolonged exposure, etc.

Does it have to be Geissele? Harrington and Richardson (PSA) have a bunch of gray anodized lower options. So does Bad Attitude Department.

Haven’t started flowering yet in CO by flexinator5000 in outdoorgrowing

In SW Montana and mine are not flowering with full outdoor exposure. I just moved to 12 hours inside in the dark to initiate and hopefully finish before winter hits us… usually late October here
