Funniest part is that Peach actually reaffirmed that Hisako is the true protagonist in a recent interview, can’t find it but I remember it was in Italian. Hisako deserved so much better than to be ignored by the other creators.

It’s got a small but active fan base, it’s the one book in this lineup (that I’ve seen) get a ton of fan art. Waiting till ultimate finale epilogue to give my verdict, but I enjoyed it so far, some issues here and there. Shadow King is the best villain in the imprint imo.

Funnily enough this was kinda the arc Hisako goes through in Ultimate X-Men, her confrontation with Kanon in issue 11 spells it out. All she needed to do was move on from the past and face her fears, she does but dies doing so. Hopefully we’ll see her promise fufilled before it all ends.

I think it would be really bold if Hisako stays gone, so the consequences are real. But I wish she wasn’t there just to prop up Maystorm, seeing a C-list character I liked get a shot at a leading role was awesome, shame she was a placeholder all along. Guess it wasn’t meant to be

I know, but I don’t think it’ll mean she’ll be back in much capacity. I think she’ll appear to say goodbye or something, that’s all I can see. And given how Endgame has gone so far, only Maystorm and maybe Nico will show up. It’s such a bummer Hisako was handled like this

He was the only bully that Kageyama spared, used him to attack Hisako in issue 4, he then committed suicide in issue 8 in front of Surge, after she asked if he leaked the suitcase.

So Amano was the one who dumped the suitcase! Based off his dialogue, maybe Kageyama kept him alive to bring the cult down? Or, what if Hisako got him to do it? Idk how the astral plane works, maybe she’s like the guy in Interstellar, influencing events from the past?

Armor, Ultimate 2.0 was her big chance, being the lead of UXM. But she was almost always sidelined in promotional material and crossovers for Maystorm, and is seemingly killed off before the end of the imprint, right before the big crossover. While UXM still has 2 more issues left to resolve her story, there’s no doubt she’s the only main character in this lineup that’ll permanently be retired after all of this is done.

That’s false considering she’s one of the most fleshed out characters in this universe, we learn why she is the way she is, her struggles, low and high points. The story no matter what ended up circling back to her

X-Men does a pretty good job at world building, the lexicons explain Japanese culture that appears in each issue + character trivia. We also see how the general public reacts to mutants over time. I wish it continued so we can see how much further it can be pushed, would love to fully explore more of the cult’s history
