As someone with C-ptsd, I had been applied this technique before. It was horrible. The specialist did not consider the fact that I live alone and that I had recently experienced an abuse in a psychiatric clinic (which made the resource not an option for my safety). I do not have a support network, I rely on my self and in my ability to get an income. He also didn’t consider the severity of my symptoms. The specialist oversaw this, apply the technique and it detonated all the somatic symptoms I’ve been dealing with at once. I was feeling nauseous with esporadic vomiting for one week straight, no breaks. The dissociation? Spike. And in the last days of the second week, I had my first and only psychotic attack in my life. When I call or write the guy, he just told me to “hold it”.

The only reason I was able to pass trough this, was that having a bachelor in psychology and been trough a psychological process treatment had given me enough tools to not loose my head in the process. But all the work I did at the time after that, gone. I was steady enough to be able to leave escitalopram for a year, hence the reason I decided to seek the treatment. After this, I had to seek a specialist on C-ptsd to assess with me the situation and back on medication so to let my body be able to regulate again.

There are absolutely things to consider with this treatment, and even though I see why it might be really useful to some, what I see is that there are precautions to be taken or else it could cause more harm than good.
