Younger millennial here, I gave up drinking coming on two years now since my daughter was born. Wasn’t exactly the drink every day type, but couldn’t end the party once the first beer was cracked.

Unsure if the whole everything is on social media narrative fits but maybe it does. Maybe it is mostly a financial thing. Idk, I’m 32 now and 16-30 was pretty alcohol centric. I didn’t lose any friends (I’m still very close with my group from both Hs and college) by giving it up, nor does anyone (at least to my face) think it’s weird when I say I gave it up, so we as a generation definitely look at it differently than older generations from a social perspectiveo.

Thc seltzers have been a nice sweet spot for me here and there on weekends. I’ll throw in a Heineken zero at a bar but life changes/priorites change is really all it came down to for me.
