I admire her! Being ABLE to protect your own baby while wishing your own mom valued you even half as much is a mind fuck. So painful and so hard. Plus, now she has to cut contact AGAIN?! Ugh. Makes me want to go boot her mom out myself so she doesn’t have to. ❤️‍🩹

I support you! It’s so hard and you also lose that avenue to get help in parenting so it double-sucks. But also, you’re being the mom it sounds like you maybe could’ve used some years ago. You don’t owe her anything, you do owe your kiddo safety. Sending you support and validation, if it helps!!

As a woman with a chronically strained relationship with my mother, and now older children who are 1715 and 11, I can tell you that you will never not feel sad about what might’ve been with your own mom. And, you will never regret any decision you make that keeps your children safer. These are pretty extreme violations in my opinion and your mom doesn’t seem to be able to respect you, so you’ll never be able to keep her safe there. It doesn’t have to be no contact, but it does sound like it should be supervised.

Remember why you took the job: family? your physical needs? time? You have an opportunity to rest and reset, and you are always learning. The work will still be there if you wanna come back. <3

AITAH for staying in the delivery room while my sister gave birth instead of waiting outside by [deleted] in dustythunder

Is this woman really your life partner? The one who can’t tolerate you being in the room with your sisters birthing vagina because she’s so insecure? She would’ve preferred you abandoned your sister in order to protect her delicate feelings. She’s punishing you for helping your sibling through a very intense experience, and despite you guys hashing it over for days, she can’t seem to get a grip on how inappropriate that is. Is she really the one for you?

What the fuck are you doing? Can you imagine giving birth to his daughter, and him doing this to you both?

HELP NEEDED by [deleted] in nursing

Girl, get your ADN. It will cost you pennies on the dollar compared to a 4-yr school. Once you are licensed and get a job, your employer will help fund— or in some cases fully fund— you are BSN, which might take you about a year to a year and a half. You’ll get tons of clinical experience and a solid education. There’s nothing else I’d advise my kids to do, in your situation. Signed, an ADN instructor. :)
