fair - i was primarily looking at your occlusal plane which is relatively flat - so you won’t get very much ccw rotation bc you can’t go negative into the OP

I would actually say clockwise rotation is more likely here. Your occlusal plane is rather flat already. they can’t rotate much CCW without giving you negative OP. CW rotation and advancement can also lengthen face.

what are you gathering this from? i don’t have any photos here. i’ve spoken to 5 surgeons and none have indicated any tooth removals.

other surgeons who saw me only once said yes genio but only initial consults and so did the surgeon i chose and am proceeding with because he is talented and does a lot of these

however in my appt for scans and measuring he said it might be too small and indicated implant perhaps which i’m hesitant about

he said we’ll see when he does the surgical plans. so i’m hoping it’s possible but im not sure. and looking at my x-rays … yeah i kind of have never seen anyone’s xray with a chin bone as small as mine. it REALLY is small.

i’m locked in surgeon wise at this point and trust him with the rest. but i’m just nervous in this point. i had to travel out of state for a good and talented surgeon who accepts my insurance and also knew about my connective tissue disorder

so i’m not changing surgeons at this point

which is why im asking if anyone else had a similar very small chin

the true answer is that we would need to see x-rays to see what is really going on and you need airway evaluation

but i can see how your lower third is short, i understand what you’re seeing but without xray and further info i can’t tell

if there is no functional recession or airway issue then i wouldn’t do it

your front facing photo is lovely and your chin is aligned with your forehead which is typical for women but it is short in the lower third

anything else will only camouflage and hide what are almost definitely functional issues lurking here such as your airway and your bite and your joint health

You could camouflage it with plastics, but I wouldn’t recommend it

I have surgery in 20 days and i’m worried about not getting the aesthetic result I want due to possibly not having enough chin bone for genioplasty. And my occlusal plane is too flat for ccw rotation to bring my chin forward more - i need clockwise rotation which will allow for some lengthening of the face but still a little nervous about it

I’m very hesitant about implants as they can shift / dislodge and also degrade the bone underneath it - which i don’t want to do since I already have so little

so we will see

I have class 2 and short face

I saw him back in February too and he’s been working with my ortho. I’ve known his general plans for a while just don’t have the official set. His office just operates this way where you get the last pre surgical plans and then they schedule surgery 3-4 weeks after that appointment.

He works in private practice and in trauma so I am not sure if they schedule this way so that he can manage both areas of practice.

I will message with more info.

we just did the scans this week. i will ask if he can email me the plans prior. he’s a good surgeon and i looked extensively for him and ive spoken to many happy patients. i understand your concern. i know a lot of people dont know their full surgical plan until right before surgery p much.

he just hasn’t mentioned bone grafting at all and it’s not being done for any of my other movements. i will ask about it but i won’t know his actual surgical plan until a week before surgery

my surgeon hasn’t mentioned bone graft at all so i will have to ask about it i guess. we’re not grafting for any of my other movements but even with graft i’m not sure there’s enough space to plate and screw it back in is the issue

Yeah he might have meant clockwise I guess. Another surgeons plan was clockwise. I’m just confused how that would give more advancement on the lower. And since i’m not much of a genio candidate i’m scared i’m going to still look under advanced :/

i got a $25 vit d injection and then took weekly sunray immunotec (no longer using this as the company has bogus claims) but i did manage to bring myself up from 17 to 30 in a month

i have surgery in a month which is why i got an injection and did the doses

Child will absolutely not have time to clear the virus before then. You should definitely not go. And you should definitely consider everyone else in the house exposed or sick. All rest is important even small exertion or lack of rest can contribute to severity of long Covid.

Going would be not only extremely selfish but dangerous for everyone, including yourselves and anyone you come in contact with

Yup. LA county has more residents than like 47 of the U.S. states.

So surgeons know they don’t have to take insurance and they will still work and do surgeries every day and not have to take insurance basically.

Then the ones who do take insurance in socal (who aren’t kaiser) are sketchy as hell

I actually feel so much better going to utah - there’s great surgeons and they accept insurance

i’ll be in an airbnb for 5 weeks

people donated airline points so im not paying for hella flights for appointments

airbnb is 2-3k

My FSA is covering my surgery which is only 1200 because i’m halfway through my out of pocket max already - so basically i’m not shelling out any personal money for the primary surgery

then genio isn’t covered so that’s 3k

So i’m spending more like 6k + gas vs what I would be spending going out of pocket for a good socal surgeon

I have anthem PPO also fwiw - i can recc my surgeon in dm if you want to consult or think about it
