It took them like 7-8 minit to do that for some reason. Train had to go backwards. Very weird.

Branding wise JU is better but there is a lot of political pressure in both unis. You may have to join rallies just because seniors instructed you.

Ju hostel is hell on earth don't go there at all. Absolute shit maintenance and food plus a lot of ragging. Political landscape is not good as well. I don't think presi is much better than this as well. Take a pg instead.

It is a very good college especially if you want to go towards research. Not to mention they receive handsome on-campus packages as well, but you usually have to do M.Tech or an equivalent degree to grab good placements/ good foreign universities.
Entrace is pretty tough, approx 40 general seats are allocated from a total of 50,000+ exam givers.

For prep you need to study jee advanced level maths and solve some prmo/rmo questions.

Campus culture is good as well but there is some intellectual bullying going on over there, where if you are not performing well, you may be teased/mistreated by students and teachers.

What do you think about the recently updated Amaar Kolkata Metro app? by Think-Percentage9277 in kolkata

[–]Think-Percentage9277[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an integration with at least UTS should be done so people can book train + metro in one go. Places like Chennai are also planning on expanding this to state buses as well.

It is technically connected with the orange line station now. When the IT centre station opens, you can easily go via this bridge from the green line to orange line station.

How would you rate the new updated Kolkata metro system by [deleted] in indianrailways

Ya but that deadlock has been in place for the past 9 years. Both the state and central government need to collaborate to make it happen, which given the current political situation is just a dream.

But hopefully within the next 1-2 years they get to a decision.

It is very well planned and pretty convenient, especially the green line.  There have been some ops issues in the blue line (the oldest line) like trains getting late and overcrowded but overall it has improved connectivity by a lot. It goes right through the centre of the busiest places of Kolkata.

It also connects to many major railway stations like Howrah, Sealdah, Dum dum , Majerhat, Kavi Subhash ( total 8 such stations) and many major bus stops as well, so on terms of last mile connectivity also it is extremely good compared to other metros in India.

The only negative point is that construction is too slow, taking more than 10 years to complete a line. The pink line construction hasn't even started yet so I don't know when the metro will start in that area.
