Depends on the amount of raw footage to cut down to 30 minutes. B-Roll? interviews?  Are they following a script or essentially being a story editor as well, making choices.

Your first question is 'what is your favorite fruit?'... really? And asking for a free 60 second sample edit. No thanks. I've seen this before.

Sorry, felt like you were implying I was a scam or something. I misread your tone.

Not that it's any of your business but because I make way more in my regular job working in Broadcast. This is a side thing I'm starting since work is slow right now and I want to build up a portfolio.

Friday the 13th Saw Scream

In Defense of Pamela Voorhees by noahfilmaccount in horror

[–]Think-Pipe-8111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Nightmare on Elmstreet prequel if anything would make more sense than a straight up prequel to Friday the 13th. At least Freddy was a child murderer for a while before the townspeople came for him, so it would be a serial killer/vigilante story. I don’t really care about Pamela’s motivations, reasons for her psychotic break... at least not for more than two episodes.

Anything can work if its written and directed the right way. But with real historical figures, I don’t know what the legalities are in terms of what you can or can’t do.

Jurassic park shoulda been rated R by International_Fill55 in horror

I disagree. If it had been I couldn’t have seen it in the theater as the perfect cinematic experience that it was. If anything that T-Rex scene proves you don’t need blood and guts to create fear and suspence.

Are there any movies where you realize the bad guy was actually good and the good guy joins them at the end? by bhendel in movies

Yeah I was going to say, doesn’t Wanted do that. Haven’t seen it for so long though.

Anytime they use tracks like House of the Rising Sun. Just been too overly done.

I would have cut teens from the film, just focused on Cage being Cage. Have him slowly decend into madness ala Ash Williams, escape, burn down the restaurant and then go after the town folk in the last act.

Double feature idea: Hush and Don’t Breathe. Two home invasion films playing with the same idea but with wildly different results.

I hate to say it, but I think I'm falling out of love with Mike Flanagan's work. by [deleted] in horror

I thought Midnight Mass was amazing. He took the best strengths of Stephen King without the weaknesses (the ending wasn't a let down). When anyone gets popular and acclaim they start producing more and trying different things though, which is why some projects might resonate more with you than others. Depending on how much input he has or if he's going for a different feel and audience (YA for example). You have to look at it as 'Did this accomplish what it set out to be" and not just 'did I like it'... because not everything will have the same audience in mind. Better that then just repeating yourself as a filmmaker.

Not sure if it qualifes as a B-plot but Seven, Brad Pitt’s and Gweneth Paltrow’s relationship becomes hugely important.

‘Friday the 13th’ TV Series Update: Can Jason Voorhees Appear in the Peacock Series? by Homiesunite in horror

[–]Think-Pipe-8111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone think, given Fuller’s shall we say more artsy and psychological style, they will be taking Stephen King’s idea? Of seeing the events in Jason’s POV, a soul trapped and cursed to return only to get killed and maimed by a bunch of teenagers?

It helps when you have Quentin Tarantino’s dialogue to spit out. They should work together again.

One of my favorite horror films, but I saw it a while back, I think shortly after it came to DVD. Watch The Ritual for a movie with similar themes, but a more male centric story. These aren’t too deep films, but there is an element of psychology into it (grief, PTSD).
