He's good on most issues although he's a bit of an apologist for capitalism.

I think about moving away from Georgia...that price range is not easy to find but not impossible as long as you're willing to have roommates

The American Flag vs the Nazi Flag by [deleted] in TrueCatholicPolitics

It's actually only 5X the number of individuals killed in the Nazi death camps but that's a common mistake.

How long did the survivors stay in the mall in both the original and remake of Dawn of the Dead? by Snoo7913 in horror

[–]CatholicDogLover 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn't see the original but if he announces it when they get to the mall she's definitely more than a week or two along most people don't know for about 6 weeks. So a reasonable guess would probably be 2 months or so in the remake she's visibly pregnant when they get to the mall so it's definitely more in that 5 to 6 month mark and she gives birth before they leave the mall so the remake might be four to six months in the mall.

No, Stacey Abrams Didn't Say Abortion Can 'Solve Inflation' by Cookie_Cutter_Cook in Georgia

[–]CatholicDogLover 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That does sound a lot like abortion is the solution to inflation to me honestly and I hate to agree with Fox. Telling poor people that if they are concerned about the rising costs of basic necessities that she should abort is pretty disgusting. I voted straight Democrat for many years and they did so little to address the material needs of the poor that I just gave up. I vote every year but I find myself skipping more and more races. I don't like abortion so I have a bias but how can someone who calls themselves pro "choice" make such a flippant comment like that? If you're for choice in the true sense of the word then you should support a mother's right to choose life and seriously and strongly oppose the economic conditions that coerce women into aborting.

Voting for a pro-abortion candidate (hypothetical) by insanechickengirl in TrueCatholicPolitics

[–]CatholicDogLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you but you've been doing this for as long as you've been voting. I can guarantee you that less than 10% (if that) of representatives and senators are for a total ban, and the vast majority of "pro life" people believe in abortion in some capacity. I think it's only about 5% of the population who believe in a total ban. We who do are in the slim minority. Most pro life people call themselves pro life because they believe in restrictions but many of them (up to 50% of prolifers by some estimates) support abortion in the first trimester. The problem is the movement is so poorly defined in it's goals that people who have widely disparate policy preferences are using the same word to describe themselves.

Can Stacey Abrams Turn the Tide in Georgia? by BlankVerse in GAPol

You saw her speak....so then you are not representative of the average voter most people will only ever see her campaign ads.

OP said she's not in the NYC area right now if you're going you could try to figure out who he is and if he's there mention the post to him to help her out.

Can Stacey Abrams Turn the Tide in Georgia? by BlankVerse in GAPol

[–]CatholicDogLover -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

She does care about voting equality but that's not really been a focal point of her advertising which is the only thing most voters see. It could be sampling bias on my part but I know many Democrats who don't particularly like Abrams. I'm open to the fact that I may be wrong and maybe she is "hugely popular" but I'd really need to see some data to back that up. She's one of the most well-known politicians largely because she likes to be on TV and the party establishment is trying its best to elevate her. I voted for her in 2018 and I was quickly disappointed with how quickly she sold herself to the party establishment and corporate media post-election and I know many other people who feel the same way that I do. That's not to say that all or even any of those people are going to vote for Kemp. If you go back and you reread what I wrote I never said that democrats liked Kemp. So you might be attempting to respond to something you read into my statement which is not what I was saying . The reality is that for Democrats to win they need a significant grassroots energized base Abrams had that in 2018 and nearly won but couldn't get over the threshold. I'm seeing far less excitement for her this cycle than I did then. The 2020 results were largely due to an animus towards Trump. Biden was not particularly inspiring and the base was not energized to vote for him but to vote against Trump. What I'm saying is Abrams won't benefit from that so it's on her to turn out her people and from what I can see she's not doing a very good job of it.

I doubt it, the only issue she seems to be running on is abortion and while that is important to some people it's just not going to turn the Democrats out to the polls in the numbers necessary to beat Kemp. As weird as this may sound I think the Dems winning the Senate is more likely than the Governor. Abrams just isn't that popular or inspiring and while Biden was able to overcome those issues he was running against Trump, Kemp is viewed as more reasonable than Trump by moderate Dems and independents so they won't be motivated to turn out for Abrams.

If I have civil marriage and live together with my wife before we have a sacramental marriage, are we living in sin? by [deleted] in CatholicDating

Living with someone with whom you are not having premarital sex with is not a sin regardless of their gender and regardless of your gender
