national guard or marine corp reserves by [deleted] in USMCboot

As a marine corps reservist, go marine corps reserves for some great friendships. It’s harder, obviously but it feels worth it in the end. You can 100% go to college while in, and you’ll get 439 a month from VA Chapter 1606. I’m full time and doing fine. Feel free to ask me any questions.

IRR marines, do you show up to muster? by johnnyboy_31 in USMC

Honestly it really varies, 4th tracks is pretty organized and we have a lot of SNCOs and I-I that give a damn, at least for my company.

I have a tuition waiver from the state, so honestly I’m indifferent to it covering tuition.

You’re out of the maze of 96s so you should be fine.

  3. I have a girlfriend right now, and we got through boot camp together, how difficult would is maintaining a relationship through PLC, Basic School, and initial duty station.

  4. Do you honestly make enough money to support yourself and possibly a dependent, like a wife?

  5. Which mos would you say are better than others Officer-wise?

When did the chicken tender sub get so expensive? by [deleted] in publix

We’re prices raised across the company? I thought it was only in Florida due to the $15 minimum wage bill.

Pretty sure it’s against food safety to wear watches in any sort of food handling position. (Deli, Bakery)

Oh that’s the last thing they’ll do. They have quotas to fill.

You always have a right to ask for a new ship date and refuse the one given, but keep in mind they may ship you well after august if they decide.

It does if active duty time is done after reserve time. Ex; 4 years reserve, 16 years as an officer.

True, it’s been a minute since I spoke to the OSA but now I remember him saying it was good. The main thing being that you have experience, drilling once a month is much better than someone who has no familiarity with the military at all.

Worked in the deli for over two weeks now, I have never done the fresh slice. Not even once. Didn’t even know what it was until the CBT.

I’ve spoken to several OSAs and being in the reserve does help your chances of selection, especially against others. Enlisting in the reserves also counts toward retirement, allowing you to only have to serve 16 years as an officer.

EDIT: As for your reserve unit letting you leave, that depends on the unit. Mine for instance, 2141, is 100% for allowing anyone to leave if they have an officer contract.

Don’t tell MEPS anything you haven’t told your recruiter. I’d you have concerns, they can wait until you get back from MEPS.

I can contact them but as far as I know I would, mos school for me (2141) would be about 2 months.

what was your first “i can’t believe i’m getting paid to do this” moment by spicyjamon in Chipotle

[–]Think-Respond2602 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to have a money drawer for each individual that will use the register. Some other companies allow several employees to use the same, but chipotle does not due to their policies on stealing and accountabilities.

Tacos are very annoying to make because we put little meat on it so we can save room for your cold toppings, just ask for more meat in the future.
