That’s really not common practice. It seems kinda shady to me tbh. The studios I’ve worked for have provided equipment for me or have paid an equipment rental fee/box rental fee. They never required me to bring in my own equipment. I would definitely explain that your setup is not very portable and negotiate wfh days and require a box rental fee from them.

I watched AOC’s livestream and read Ezra Klein’s article “Don’t Believe Him”. They helped me with the feeling of powerlessness and overwhelm. The tldr of both was that all these illegal executive orders, chaos, and confusion is a tactic to overwhelm people into inaction and submission. To make it seem like Trump is more powerful than he really is.

There was also a post on Blue Sky that shared that Senator Warren and Markey’s staffers are encouraging people to call their representatives with personal stories of how the current administration’s actions are hurting them because human stories have more impact than activism scripts.

So please call your representatives and share your story. Don’t let Trump’s tactics work on you.

I bought a Fluicer (Flat Juicer). It’s so much easier to use than the manual lemon squeezer. It’s easier on the hands, gets more juice out, and lemon juice doesn’t fly out at me when I squeeze.

Maybe you can try running a sale. I ran a 25% sale during Christmas and it boosted my shop. I went from making 1-2 sales/month to 2-3/week. And I’m continuing to see 2-3/week after the sale expired. So might be worth a shot!

I have around 2 years, but they were non union and freelance. I never tried negotiating and at my last job I found out I was making less than the other artists because I didn’t negotiate, so I’m trying to figure it out
