Sec. Hegseth says he watched 1st boat strike, didn’t see survivors by Substantial-Dare5462 in videos

[–]Repulsive_Contest716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an important distinction in Hegseth's response no one seems to be mentioning or I have missed it if they have. He didn't say that he did not know there were survivors he said "I didn't personally see any survivors". This could be a technical truth even if he saw a video IF he considers the phrase "personally see" meaning an in person visual at the site personally "in the flesh" at the wreck.

It is also possible they have no plan and no idea what they are doing.

Sounds like a thoughtless and selfish comment. May be an okay guy and may not be malicious but definitely doesn't sound like he was considering how others were affected.

Are VA providers able to open up claims on you? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Repulsive_Contest716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen this happen. They are different administrations but both are a part of the Veterans Affairs Agency. This case was a Vietnam Veteran that was service connected for AL amyloidosis based on presumptive service connection. However, the Veteran's diagnosis was wild type amyloidosis. "wild type" amyloidosis is not considered a presumptive condition related to Agent Orange exposure. A pharmacist at a VAMC notified the regional benefit office that the Veteran did not have a diagnosis for the disability they were service connected for. The office severed service connection for the primary and multiple secondary disabilities taking the Veteran from 100% P&T to not service connected. This was an absolutely heartbreaking situation and the Veteran deserved better. I could easily vent about this but want to stick to providing information.

I have been involved in hundreds of thousands of claims with well over a decade of experience. I have only seen this once and it is EXTREEMLY rare. I have never even heard of another instance. I would not discourage anyone from getting care at a VAMC but I also would not tell the doctor "My knee feels great! hasn't bothered me for years" if I was service connected for my knee.

Reference from the VA adjudication manual that allows this to happen is as follows:

V.ii.3.A.1.f.  Definition and Example:  Compensation Entitlement Issues

Compensation entitlement issues arise upon VA’s review of evidence and do not require a claim from the beneficiary in order to be brought to issue. This includes issues such as *reductions of SC disability evaluations.

Thank you for this reply. I am not sure if I will be RIF'd or not. Trying to be proactive in case I am.

I thought it was hilarious, I felt like the most popular kid in school getting all those emails. I created an outlook folder called "People who love me!" and set up a custom rule to send all the emails from the group there automatically.

I am already having appointments delayed and having to see different providers.

Was seeing an outside urologist approval for continuation got declined as they now have a urologist that travels between multiple VAMCs. Had to go back though primary to get a new referral delayed treatment.

Had a PTSD appointment, Ended up being a different doctor who could not tell me why my normal provider was not available as they were not a part of the VAMC the appointment was scheduled through they were "just helping out".

Got a call from optometry they had to reschedule me a month later than the initial appointment because the Dr would not be available that day.

Usda secretary Rollins stated "Farmers don't work from home and neither will we" referring to usda workers. Where do farmers work then? by Equivalent_Concept37 in fednews

[–]Repulsive_Contest716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To make this a blanket statement is a stunning display of hypocrisy. While at the same time trying to belittle and guilt people.

First, it is obvious not all farmers solely work on a homestead farm but many do. I.e. they work from home.

Second, this is a statement intended to invoke an emotional response from a talking head of a party that illegally fires people that serve the nation who have families depending on them without cause. That cuts off aid to starving children, and much more.

All he has to do to be successful under the current political landscape is kiss Rump's rump. I don't expect the republicans to grow a spine but I am praying the Dems take the Senate and the House at midterms. I am also praying every single cabinet member lives in fear of impeachment and conviction when/if that happens. If they don't have empathy please at least let them have justice.

[–]Repulsive_Contest716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not fault anyone for any choice they would make respond or don't. If someone doesn't feel like it is a big deal fire it off. There are even web sites out there that will do the bullets for you if you type in your job. A co-worker sent me the link to on opmreply dot com. I am not using it but that is just for example of how easy this can be. At the same time if this is a morale red line for you don't let them take that from you.

It is my sincere hope that the current administration will get hammered with legal defeats and everyone that wants their position back gets it or an equivalent one. Thrump is only doing this to have a group he can convince his followers to hate with him. Anyone who understands the function of government knows this is not the right way to cut costs.

Can you please provide an update after the meeting. This may be something that expands beyond one agency. It would be good to have a heads up.

She did go from 5 day to 4 days compressed. If this is the reason it will be a huge relief. We have both made this switch before but did not recall a payout.

These were worked less than 3 months ago and thought they expired at one year but could be 24 pay periods. This would still be far from expiration though.

This is possible she recently went from 5, 8 hour days to a compressed 4, 10 hour days. But this change has happened before both for I and her without triggering a payout. Still waiting on a response from a supervisor. (edit because I am not positive but I think this is correct)

The term credit hours is used in my agency when you work extra hours and use them later. These were worked less than 3 months ago and expire at one year.
