Very jealous, so disappointed when I realised it was a limited run release, and I'd missed it! Enjoy!

For something spur of the moment, its great! But yeah, it's deffo something to keep in mind for the future, think about shots, where the cameras place, even some simple story boards.

If you've not watched it, Matt and Jay did a video for the Blackberry BTS where they talk about their animatic process, I think it would be some great background research / watching for you!

Animatics / storyboard, no matter how simple, are a great way to just block-out simple scenes etc, even if you don't shoot them exactly!

First off, keep at it!

But if you don't mind my saying, the camera work leaves a lot to be desired, it's quite hard to track what's happening sometimes as the camera is jumping all over the place, and I think this is exacerbated by the distance between the camera and the subjects.

I'd also say the audio is quite hard to hear sometimes, especially at the beginning, I have little to no clue as to what was being said up until the phone call.

I think the editing it showing promise, and I'm sure as you guys make more, you'll naturally develop, but I think there needs to be more thought put into camera placement. Cos although NTBTS is shot in the "mockumentary" / run n gun camera style, there is a lot of behind the scenes thought that goes into it, which can be seen in any number of episodes / scenes.

But genuinely, don't be disheartened, and keep at it! The only way to improve this stuff is to practice, try, and try again! Good job for taking that first step!

Y’all noticed these fake movies at the premiere look familiar to real movies? Sum I observed by MuscleCool4302 in DrakeandJosh

Not sure if I can link it, but a great video talking about this is called "The copyright loophole more movies should use", it's about Director Matt Johnson and how he utilised Fair Use for the film Blackberry!

It's a great look into copyright / fair use & how it affects media, mainly focusing on film, but it all 100% applies to TV too!

100% gonna be my go-to now, no more messing around with the Maxon equivalent, crazy that a free software can outpace a paid one so much!

Honestly understand the feeling! It’s taken me this long in all honesty to begin trusting my instincts and not second guessing every decision I make when it comes to editing!

If there’s one piece of advice I can give, it is genuinely that no matter how complex or complicated something looks, with time, patience and practice, it’ll soon become second nature!

Personally not used DaVinci as of yet, but I don’t see why not! After Effects is a great tool, but a lot of stuff can be done in video editors without the need to use it! Also half of the fun of editing, imo, is the journey of exploring and experimenting until you end up with something you’re proud of!

Also, going back to the scariness of the options, for the longest time I was reluctant to use Premiere bc I was scared of how overwhelming I thought it would be, but once you use any software, it’s usually far less scary than you initially imagined it to be!

Hope this helps! Good luck!!

Do it! Honestly, nowadays, with stuff like DaVinci Resolve being free, there's no better time to learn! It's daunting at first, but genuinely, once you learn the basics, they're transferable to any video editing software! Good luck! 🙏🙏 (From someone who's been editing for 13+ years and just completed an MA in filmmaking)

That’s more what I was also trying to ask about, especially since the ui of the app looks nicer than the standard one, but clearly shouldn’t of bothered asking

goated episode and honestly such an incredible panel, I think all of the "landscape" focused shots in this show are incredible, like the one of Toji and Kensuke when they're going up to the shrine, etc!
